January 22, 201214 yr Hey,I've been painting the NGX for a friend and I've came across a problem he has shown me. Basically I have text that I have split up so it wouldn't be cut off by the fuselarge cuts and it seems due to these cuts there is a blue paint line down the windows on each side because of it.This is the image I have been provided with:I wasn't sure what to do in terms of fixing it. Can anyone give me any ideas? January 22, 201214 yr Couple of things Matthew. Which aircraft model 6/7/8/900 is that you are working on, some are not quite as well set up as others. Nevertheless as can be seen from your pic looks like the line of windows has slipped a bit foward `8-10 pixels or so. I can see the windows are not lined up with the bump map that gives indented shape to the windows. You are less likely to have moved the bump map.So you've either accidently dragged the window line, or not done the paint cut lines in the right place which would be my guess. After you fix that 'perfect' as per the paint kit, it'll still be 'out' by 1 pixel .... look at that window with the cut through it, the frame won't be lined up , just 1 pixel but it requires manual adjustment. When doing those paint cuts and moving paint bits I tend to use that window with the cut though it to get my position and alignment right rather than the guide in the paintkit and it helps if the painted bits 'overlap' into the cutout section from both sides rather than cut cleanly at the edges of it (that results in a white line between the sections.) January 22, 201214 yr OK the 8/900 kit has less 'adjustments required' than the 6/700 so thats all good. You'll also find that adjustment of 1 pixel on the left hand side discussed above is only needed on the left hand side, left and right sides are not exactly symetrical ... just to add to the fun :) That becomes obvious when you try and draw lines around the nose where you'll find the left side is that 1 pixel below the right side. January 22, 201214 yr Hi Matthew, yes its getting pretty picky , just 1 pixel out of 1200+ but you can see it here at the join line and this is the default PMDG livery. January 23, 201214 yr Author It seems to of improved a bit, the line doesn't seem as wide as it was the first time. But now it seems to be the common white line issue and the windows seem to look still out of shape even though I haven't moved them.I'm confused on what I'm actually suppose to be doing to fix this in terms of moving things around.New image: http://i.imgur.com/jmwEI.jpg Hi Matthew, yes its getting pretty picky , just 1 pixel out of 1200+ but you can see it here at the join line and this is the default PMDG livery. January 23, 201214 yr You guys could also see this thread where this has already been covered to some extent. The issues here are two separate issues (actually 3 in some ways).I would also recommend my video tutorials since they will show you how to catch the dreaded line issue upon flattening. The videos are in the works and will remain unlisted until completed, but you can go from video to video in the video description of each as there are links there to the next and previous videos. Also see my forum where I posted new windows for each model, and cut out guides to help align your own paints much easier here.Every issue with the paint kits, and lack of understanding certain things has already been covered in most cases. Tips on aligning and alpha channel fixes has also been covered in great detail on my forum and will be in the future videos as well.Hope this helps. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

But I still cannot see them with whatever I try and do, I'll give it another go at a later point. January 23, 201214 yr Keep in mind that you most likely won't see the white lines if you don't do both steps. The work space color being one of them, the other is full screen with the ability to see your workspace, so by pressing "F" twice. I've had about 7 people say that it didn't help them see them, yet every one of them that sent me their files I was able to point out the white line each time. So it's something someone just isn't doing right. There are also a couple other possibilitie so feel free to send me your dds file so I can have a look.*My email is in my profile. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
January 23, 201214 yr I will just add one more step, ZOOM IN!It is just one pixel on 100% zoom. Not easy to spot. However it is 3 pixels in 300% zoom and 10 pixels in 1000% zoom. Way easier to spot. --Peter Fabian
January 23, 201214 yr Yep. I've said that from the beginning, however if you had your background (workspace) color as I mentioned, you could easily spot it at 50% too. Setting your workspace to a dark color should happen regardless when working with PS. It's much easier on the eyes and better to work with any image, any time. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
