January 28, 201214 yr Commercial Member Looking for some feedback with experienced Eyefinity (or even Nvidia Surround) users.I just installed an Eyefinity set-up (three 27" displays and an AMD 6970), to try it out. The issue that hit me right of the bat was in VC mode the cockpit is way to close to you. I cannot zoom out enough in FSX to get a pleasing distance from my panel/controls. With TrackIR, even if I am able to back up a good amount I usually find myself behind the captain's chair! Do you have this issue? The only thing I can think of doing is go into each aircraft config file and manually edit a new POV position. And even that may not solve this issue. What do you guys see/do?Clutch Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!) Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11), EVGA 1300W PSUNetgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displaysFull array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.
February 1, 201214 yr I saw what you describe after updating my monitors from three 4x3 19" to three 16x9 24" monitors with a newer digital TripleHead2Go. Solution is to use designated keys combination to move view back. If I remember correctly, forward & back is Control +Enter or Backspace. I could be wrong but that is close. That fixed the problem you are facing. Good luck and enjoy! Happy landings, Mike Eppright (KAAO)
February 2, 201214 yr Author Commercial Member Thx, forgot to use key combinations. Does it retain your position if you leave VC to outside view and then return? Will try myself today. Also suggested to try EZDok so I will give that a go too. February 8, 201214 yr Also, with trackIR, I find that I need to "reset" the viewpoint every time I use it...Otherwise it is set to where you sat last time it was used.i.e.1) Get seated where in the position in which you will be simming...2) Click on _either_ the TrackClip (hat clip) or the TrackClipPro button (headset clip) ... this "zeros" all 6 axis thus centering your face on your view.3) I like to also go to the "camera" tab and set Camera IR to 14 or 15 (default is 10) ...As I use an HDTV and sit about 6 feet away, the strong infra red light setting helps the camera track me better, so that when I look down, the motion actually goes all the way down. Otherwise I can not get the view to go down enough to see the throttle pedestal.4) Then use FSX zoom (+ -) accordingly. Cheers, Jonathan
