What did you use to spray the throttle caps? Was it a spray though?

yep, just a gloss white spray and then an ivory to get the worn look... It is a general purpose plastic/wood/metal paint. The key is to sand the throttle caps a little with some fine sand paper so the paint goes on even.

Although white looks really great, I won't go into painting the whole TQ. The thing is: I think in 1-2 years, I will again have bad pots, and if I do what you are doing, I *don't* think they are gonna take it back under warranty! And only painting caps white... doesn't look like much.

That makes sense Word Not Allowed! I am out of warranty on my yoke and one of my throttles so was not worried about the warranty aspect...She is, getting there... Still some touch up work to do but I am pretty happy with the way things are coming together in Boeing Brown! :)6915996553_48ffba570a_z.jpg6915996365_f948b78efe_z.jpg6915995047_604c76d515_z.jpg6915995711_8d885f0c23_z.jpg6915995911_375fe34485_z.jpg6915996835_683d0f2deb_b.jpg

Thank Word Not Allowed! If by unmatched you mean ridiculously messy then you are 100% correct!!! The other thing missing from that shot is the additional laptop and 10 inch touchscreen that come out when I sim for my wxr and EFB :) There are actually 6 monitors, 2 desktops, 2 laptops, one Android tablet and one 10 inch touchscreen monitor :) Now I am going to have to clean up and take a real pic LOLTwo things: 1. I am single :LMAO:2. If you think that is good you should see the workspace my motorcycle gets... Heated garage, raised stands on wheels so I can spin it around 360 degrees in place to work on it, plugged in when not running to tend the battery, she is the real baby in the house. As you walk into the garage there is a big sign that says Big Boys Toys

Word Not Allowed, you can surely clean the pots yourself. God knows if I did it, you guys can.Paul, that looks great! If I weren't so caught up in having things match on my desk, I'd follow suit and do the same mod myself! Very cool!

Zach, I watched your video - I am NOT doing that. Either going to replace them or I'm gonna buy new ones. 2 years warranty should keep me running well.

Thanks Zach! Word Not Allowed, if it wasn't for Big Boys Toys (women included) what else would we have to keep us smiling :)!I decided to clean up and take some actual pics of the setup. Don't mind the cables, still working out some details on my EFB screen in the lower left...Left side of my setup6917142773_f37acfc273_b.jpg6917139953_23257b818f_b.jpgStraight on to the main FS screen, a 32 inch Sony BraviaNotice the EFB in the lower left ;)6917143593_d670566cca_b.jpg6917143593_d670566cca_b.jpgAnd then the right side...6917143959_12e9e06499_b.jpg6917143959_12e9e06499_b.jpgFor those that noticed the digital picture frame in the background, it is indeed a picture of me sitting on Shummy's 2005 F1 Ferrari6917144303_5bfa5c1e3c_b.jpgOne closeup of the EFB6917140577_1c1d47657b_b.jpgAnd the whole setup with a pic of my motorcycle right in front of me the whole time :)6917142101_a88b349264_b.jpg Edited by psolk
