Saitek ProFlight Gear question...

Featured Replies

Now it is my understanding that the Saitek Proflight gear such as the Multi-Panel, Switch Panel, and Radio Stack are all hard coded. And I have also noticed that they don't always work with payed aircraft, such as the 737NGX. I was curious if there was a way around this? It kind of blows that I paid for this gear to just not have it work on such a great aircraft such as this one. I didn't know if there was some sort of software that I could use, or if PMDG has some sort of update or even plans for an update. This aircraft purchase was a great buy, but I would love for it to work on the gear that I have. Thanks...

Could be wrong, but I think the SDK is supposed to allow interfacing with that kind of stuff.

Download SPADhttp://fstools.weebly.com/Configure keybords command with the same combination for all PMDG aircraft, in spad you can set action for every switch and button and rotary with keybord command, so set as you wish. The only negative aspect you cant have readout on led it works only for radio , and you must have FSX active.

I actually use SPAD. I know that I can probably get it to work with certain switches, but what about adjusting the autopilot and whatnot? Doesn't seem to work....

I have never used the SDK, nor do I know how to go about using it.... Would this work? Is it difficult to learn?

Well...considering the SDK hasn't even been released yet, I'd say it's impossible at this point. :(

LoL! Well then, hopefully once it is released it will fix the problem that I am having. I mean what a BEAUTIFUL aircraft to fly. PMDG has definitely set the new standard in payware aircraft. With payware like this, who needs Microsoft Flight. :(

it will fix the problem that I am having
Not really if someone will code the interface with spad or with FSUIPC it will work otherwise the SDK are just variable without sense for us.I don't think it will take a lot of time to see some interface as there is a huge interest on that, maybe Massimo will code for spad, Hi create for maddog and leveld.

Saitek Gear is only designed for the default A/Cs or A/Cs that use the standard FS routines, SPAD provides limited extra functionality, but nothing along the lines of making Saitek gear work with complex payware addons. SPAD hasn't been updated for years and Saitek just releases products and never bother about updating them. I like Saitek gear for my Carenado GA fix, but you really need a MCP for the heavies as most will provide updates to support popular addons.

Has he said anything? Is there any word as to anyone, whether it's PMDG, Massimo, or anyone else for that matter coding it for the Pro Flight System? If not, damn I wish there was a way to pay for it to be done because I know I would contribute to get my gear running with it. I already paid $70 for the aircraft, what's a few more to get it running with my gear...

If Saitek would pay the license fee for FSUIPC, Pete would probably correct all our issues, but Saitek won't even acknowledge that they are in the wrong.

What a downer... That's really too bad. This aircraft would be complete for people with this problem if they could just fix the issue.
