I have heard that you can but I am not sure if it only with the newer cards. you can mix brands, clock speeds, basically anything as long as its the same actual GPU.

Hmmm... So I cannot have 3 or 4 monitors with 2 X GTX 8800. Bummer"How many monitors are supported when running in SLI mode? With GeForce R180 drivers (or later), standard SLI configurations for 2-way, 3-Way, and quad SLI support a maximum of two monitors. Additional monitors (up to 6 monitors total enabled) may be enabled by using either a motherboard GPU and/or a PhysX capable graphics card (GeForce 8 series or higher with at least 256MB of memory) that does not have the same GPU as those that are SLI enabled."

The thing is, I also have a PCI Express. nVidea Geforce 7600 GT OC.Both, the GTX 8800 and the 7600 GT uses the same driver. GeForce 285.62 Driverhttp://www.geforce.c...s/Results/38915So I wonder if it would work if I just stick the 7600 GT to my PC that already has the GTX8800 and attach one or two monitors to the second card. (NON SLI)Hmmm...Manny

Hi MannyThe cards can be from different manufacturers and one can be overclocked and the other not. Note from the web site: Can I mix and match graphics cards that have different GPUs?No. For example, an XXXGT cannot be paired with a XXXGTX in an SLI configuration. At least three monitors can be run on two cards but I suspect they need to be the same resolution. I tried connecting a fourth card of a different resolution with no luck.
