FSX scenery issue

Featured Replies

I have an issue with my FSX scenery, the scenery will not reload the correct tiles fast enough. If i pause the game, I can watch the scenery decide to put up scenery where and when it wants. I am running GEX Europe and Rex 2.0, I need help fast as my sim which I have spent hundreds of hours and hundereds of £'s on is now not satisfactory! Here is my set up:Here are some screen shots of the issueThe scenery is FLOATING!?!?!?!This is the main issue here, which is the scenery does not change fast enough and is still rendering when I fly over

Simple answer to an age old problem, you're asking for the game to do more than what your hardware will allow. You want maxed settings, but don't have maxed hardware. Find a balance in the settings that will give you the visual effects that you want. Asking the game to keep up with a fighter's speed, at low elevations and the posted settings is asking for a lot IMO.

You are overloading your system. Floating houses are one example of that and fast aircraft like the one on your screenshots burden it even more. Try to set your detail settings lower and/or use ingame frame limiter. External frame limiters and sim set to unlimited are one culprit if you are using one. I got rid of most of the "tweaks" and FSX is working like a charm, though you lose some FPS. There's no free lunch with FSX settings.

When I fly with these settings at about 6,000ft in a Nimrod I get these similar results and also I get similar results in a 747 when I land at an airport. I probably should not have had afterburners on as it over exaggerated what happens. Also the floating houses occurred when I was traveling at 210 Knots??My FPS in Fsx is usually a constant 60 fps (I just installed V sync and fps has increased :()and only drops to 30 if in a very dense area. I honestly wish I could show what I mean, I could fly more or less any jet at a slowish speed and this issue is still constant...

It is still overloading. Floating houses are example of that. Your rig is not up to handle FSX at the settings you are running it. It is just as simple as that.

Fast FPS doesn't mean you'll have a smooth scenery display; timing the processor output to the mother board, memory and video card capabilities is the key to smooth performance. Try to boost your processor to about 3.9 if possible. Next step, faster memory; 1333 is pretty slow by todays standards. I had someone help me achieve that; not smart enough to do that myself. Turn your settings down especially water and clouds and back autogen off a notch. I'm not familiar with your video card so can't say anything about that.Lastly, quit worrying about FPS and strive for smooth performance. You might try Nick N's suggestions or Bojotes automatic cfg tweaking program.Hope you get 'er running the way you want.

AMD 3800X, Gigabyte Radeon 5700XT, AS Rock X570 Phantom Gaming 4, 32mb 3600 ram

Mesh or texture resolution controls how high/low the autogen appears in the scenery. Believe it is texture. Lower one or both sliders. These high settings will also raise runways above the surrounding terrain. Lower autogen to normal. Why max? Turn off boats/ships and ferries unless you're flying over water. Turn off aircraft casts shadows on the ground. Increase aircraft density to 40%. Turn off aircraft labels. Textures look blurry because settings are way too high. Check out NickN's Setting up FSX And Tuning It guide.Best regards,Jim

I would suggest reducing your LOD radius.Cheers,- jahman.

I would also be looking at vsync that sets your fps to the same as the refresh rate of your monitor - most modern LCD/LED = 60. Vsync is fine whilst you keep the frame rate at 60 - drop a little bit below 60 and it will halve the fps and you may get vsync stutters. Also try it with Triple Buffer on as that can help too.But like everyone says your settings are too high for the system that you are running. Also try a clean fsx.cfg as someone says above most tweaks in the cfg do nothing at all except perhaps harm.RegardsPeterH

I put settings on more ore less low and I still have this issue, I am telling you guys, it is defiantly not something to do with the settings being to high, it is something to do with the config file but what can i do to fix it? I even did some research and found out that this issue is very common with the scenery not loading fast enough it was to be fixed by the Microsoft team before the game was pretty much abandoned :/
