Multi monitors, Nvidia and power throttling

Featured Replies

Just a heads up in case you're not aware, many Nvidia cards have problems throttling to lower frequencies when idle and more than one monitor is connected. This leads to a waste of power and extra heat.Nvidia inspector has a fix for that too, amazing little tool.http://httputility.com/article/dual-monitor-power-saving-nvidia

Many don't use multi-monitor setups so I doubt that this will even be an issue for people using a single 1080p display.

Yes, that is why the thread title says: Multi monitors, Nvidia and power throttling

Thanks good to know that is something that we can control with Nvidia inspector (indeed amazing little utility). Even though I've got it working ok with two monitors, but I might adjust how soon it powers down.BTW scary temps that guy mentions on his site, mine idles at 33c and peaks at 62c, he says his was idling at 80c before this fix... ouch.
