I have the Saitek X52 and it has been great minus the S video looking cables that connect the two. They come out very easily. My issue right now is that I have the throttle all the way back to 0 yet when I load up FSX the plane starts to move forwards and start to accelerate quickly even though I have the throttle all the way to 0. I am tempted to look into the X52 pro. Any ideas or solutions for my problem?

Recalibrate the joystick, and when you move the throttle to idle/max during the calibration, don't go all the way to the stops. This leaves a null zone at the ends so you'll get a 0/max value at the stops without noise.

calibrate it in the FSX controls section or put in the disc it came with?

Josh Scholl

This is just a thought. Set your throttle to 0 and turn off the engine. Now save the flight as the default. Next time you launch FSX your plane will be off. Start your engine and see if starts with the throttle in the right position. If all fails try doing a system restore from a time when your throttle worked that has always fix it for me. Also do you have any other controllers hooked up, for that can cause problems too.. I have had issues like that and these steps helped fix it. I don't recommend the Saitek Software and don't use any of it.Josh

Okay I will take a look into it. Do you have any suggestions for a good joystick I could purchase that is reasonable in price?

Josh Scholl

I have the X52 Pro There isnt much diferance except for better springs and LCD screen. I now use a Yoke and throttle quadrents and also a TPM. If you need a joystick Logitech Extreme™ 3D Pro cost about $30 that works well with FSX but it dosent compare with the Saitek.
