Does Any One Know Off An Gross Weight Calculator For Approach?

Featured Replies

Hey does anyone know of some kind of website that can help you calculate the speeds for an approach just like the CDU or FMC would do ? If you notice not all aircraft has a CDU or FMC i which it did. Because i like this freeware 737 but it doesn't has a CDU since its default . So during a flight i need to calculate the weight that i have for the approach but since am running fs passenger i can't access the fual and payload section FS passenger will just cancel. So i was wondering is there any website that can help you calculate an approach speed with the current weight you are flying ?

The approach weights (Vref) would very much depend on the individual FSX model you're flying. You'll have to crunch a few numbers, and they'll be useless anyway with a freeware model.http://www.b737.org.uk/vspeedcalc2.htm

I use it for the NGX and the Level-D 767. It's great.Again, I'm not sure how the calculated Vrefs will work out with a freeware 737, and takeoff data will be useless. I recommend getting a high-fidelity add on like the NGX before pulling the trigger on a very involved, precision program. It won't do much for your freeware aircraft.

You can actually figure Vref pretty well for most any aircraft simply by setting landing flaps and in level flight slowing until you need a 10º nose-up attitude to maintain altitude. That's your Vref. You can do this a few miles before capturing the glideslope and you will not be inconvenienced by this maneuver.Cheers,- jahman.

Maybe this could help:http://www.b737.org....Landing_V_Refs_There is much more available on the Pilot's Notes page of this website.
If you noticed, I linked that site directly to the Vref calculations page. Very neat site.
