February 17, 201214 yr We have changed rules for posting screen shots in the AVSIM forums. Some restrictions were relaxed and others removed entirely. You can read the new rules here:http://forum.avsim.net/pages/screenshotsOne change that may be of interest to all is that we are now allowing commercial members to post to the screen shot forum images of their product releases. We have also provided some definitions that remove some confusion that has existed until now.
February 17, 201214 yr • No more than 10 UPLOADED, EMBEDDED or LINKED images are allowed in a single post.Hi Tom, just have a question with the above rule. Up to now users have used external links sites such as photobucket to albums that contain more than 10 shots, as to not violate AVSIM's uploaded and embedded 10 shot limit. Are you saying above that this too is now against the rules??Thanks Edited February 17, 201214 yr by tf51d Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
February 17, 201214 yr Moderator Some serious proof-reading is in order here. There are numerous spelling errors, as well as missing blank spaces to separate words... :( Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
February 17, 201214 yr Author • No more than 10 UPLOADED, EMBEDDED or LINKED images are allowed in a single post.Hi Tom, just have a question with the above rule. Are you saying above that this too is now against the rules??ThanksGood catch... No, that is not what is being said. If all a poster is doing is providing URL's (links) to images hosted elsewhere, he / she can post as many URL's as they like. When an image appears in the post itself as either an uploaded or embedded image, then the limit is ten. The reason for this rule dates back to the days when not everyone had access to high speed internet connections. Though high speed access is expanding rapidly, there are still users who aren't so fortunate, or where the number of hops between the path to AVSIM is so great that large images get bogged down. We'll change the document to reflect that. Thanks for asking.
