February 19, 201214 yr I've deleted some of the default FSX aircraft and now my G1000 panel doesn't work in the default Cessna 172, I've also lost some functionality in the Duke panel. Any ideas which default plane I deleted caused the damage? Jacek G. February 19, 201214 yr Get them back out of the Recycle Bin...Roll back the OS using "Restore to an earlier date"...The G1000.Cab should be in the Gauges folder.I have the default C172 in my dropbox, - i think it's using the RA airfile and cfg.http://dl.dropbox.com/u/52676345/C172.zip Edited February 19, 201214 yr by Paul J i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
February 19, 201214 yr Author Unfortunately it was a while ago, all is gone. I really do not want to reinstall the FSX at this point. Crap. :/Paul, thank you for the file. I do have the entire Cessna folder in one piece, the gauges are also there. This plane must be using something from one of the default a/c I deleted. :/I purely say this because the autopilot is completely blank in both the Cessna and the Duke. Jacek G. February 19, 201214 yr I don't think you are going to get away with that easily...If you know what you deleted (btw. stupid idea): Rename FSX folder, reinstall FSX into that folder, install SP1+2, rename new folder to anything else, rename original FSX back to it's original name. Replace files that you need from the "anything else" folder, the newly installed FSX.It's what I'd do.
February 19, 201214 yr Author I'm going to install it on another computer and grab the deleted aircraft folders and see if that helps. Thanks for the pointers. Jacek G. February 19, 201214 yr I'm going to install it on another computer and grab the deleted aircraft folders and see if that helps. Thanks for the pointers. It'd be easier to have a separate up-to-date install on the same computer and copy and paste everything, choosing "Don't copy" for all duplicates.I'm trying to remember if it's you that I told in these forums not to delete the default aircraft. Whoever it was, it was 5-6 months ago. Case in point. Don't delete default aircraft (what would be the point of that, anyway?) March 7, 201214 yr Author Ok, so I've reinstalled the missing aircraft folders and the Cessna's G1000+Autopilot still doesn't work, along with the radios in the Real Air's Duke. Any idea what could be going on here? Do I have to reconnect the gauges to the aircraft folders somehow? I seriously can't afford to reinstall FSX at this point. :/ Jacek G. March 7, 201214 yr Go look in your Duke's panel.cfg and check which gauges are default...That will at least give you a clue to which ones are missing. Then I'd save your .cfg file and any other custom files and run the FSX repair option. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 7, 201214 yr Author What does FSX repair option do exactly? I'd like to be informed before I hit the button and wipe out hours of my work. Jacek G. Ryzen 5800X3D | Asus RTX4090 OC | 64gb DDR4 3600 | Asus ROG Strix X570E | HX1000w | Fractal Design Torrent RGB | AOC AGON 49' Curved QHD |
March 7, 201214 yr I think repair basically restores basic FSX configuration. If for instance some airport overwrites some textures in FSX default folders, repairing is going to restore the original texture. Why don't you copy the whole FSX folder somewhere else, make a repair, if it works out, fine, if it doesn't, you can always copy back?
