February 20, 201214 yr Hello!I'm having a very annoying issue with my NGX. When i'm on the VC without the mouse pointer on the screen i get 50fps, when i put the mouse the fps drops to 26, 27. This is a huge drop, i know there is other topics with this issue but none of them provide some usefull info, this is a bug that only occurs on the PMDG 737 and the iFly 737, Other PMDG aircrafts like MD-11 runs very smooth and without that glitch.Someone have found a fix for this? maybe some other mouse pointer system? Will SP1c fix this perfomace issue? Why don't PMDG make a less complex VC version to fix this, i don't mind if the quality is slightly worse since i can fly this wonderfull aircraft with 50 FPS.My PC:Core i7 26008GB RAM DDR3 1333 7-7-7-21ASUS MATRIX GTX580 PLATINUMZotac Geforce 8400gs (for other screens)32" screen 1080p (fsx screen)Thanks!
February 20, 201214 yr There's no fix for this, other than moving the mouse pointer out of the screen. You can also move it over a 2d panel popup to reduce some of the fps drop Johan Pettersen
February 20, 201214 yr A lot of people are perfectly happy with 25 fps (including me)!Forget about the frame-counter and enjoy!!!!! February 20, 201214 yr Commercial Member Seeing it drop 25FPS is not normal at all - I've never seen more than about 5-8 or so myself. We did a lot of work trying to mitigate that issue in the FSX engine but it can never be completely eliminated. The problem occurs on any airplane but it gets worse with the complexity of the VC - the MD-11 has nowhere near the number of clickable objects the NGX does.I'd look at your video card settings and such, something's not right there. Pretty much half of my usual frame rate. 50 down to around 25-27. @Ryan, what video card settings do you suspect we might need to set differently? Edited February 20, 201214 yr by martin-w
February 20, 201214 yr Author Ryan, i'm following the steps described here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/324786-nvidia-configuration-guide-inspector-2xxxx-drivers-version-20-explanations-of-all-settings/page__p__1915199#entry1915199Also, my configs on NVidia control panel are all default, if you want a screenshot i can post here, i just modified the configs on NVidia inspector. I also had this problem with the iFly 737 when i had two HD5850 and an AMD X4 965.Jude Bradley, sometimes 25fps is nice, but after 3 hours of flight when i'm landing at some photoreal scenery, it can drop to 17, also, it's impossible to me to record a movie since i need to keep the mouse on the screen to move the cameras and the fps drops to below 20s.

February 20, 201214 yr In Carenado C340 and RealAirs Duke B60 I lose around 8-10 fps with the mouse in VC. So it is a FSX problem, the other less complicated VCs it is around 4-5 only. And in the 737NGX it is the same for me, loose some from 25-30 to 18-20. February 21, 201214 yr Disable vsyncWorth a try Johan.Possible for me without tearing, as I have a 120Hz LCD monitor. Why vsync whats the theory behind that?Perhaps Ryan can comment on which graphics card setting he was referring to.It would also be interesting to hear from others, as to how much loss of FPS they see with the mouse cursor visible. Is a 50% reduction as unusual as Ryan suggests???
February 21, 201214 yr Just tested...No difference at all with vsync off. With cursor on the screen I see a 40% loss in frame rate!
