How do I silence the Beep Beep Beep when I deselect the AutoPilot

Featured Replies

I getting kinda tired of the verbal notification that I have deselected the AP. Is there a simple way to silence that warning or contol the volumne somehow? I have some new addon sound packs and when I crank up the volumne while the wife is away, then AP warning is way too loud. Thanks.Ray

You could open the sound.cfg for the aircraft in question and edit this line. It is in the aircrafts sound folder.[AP_DISENGAGE_SOUND]filename=baapdismaximum_volume=9000Lower sound volume. Little makes a big diff!

I got a LOL idea: turn your speakers off when deselecting, then turn them back on.

I'm looking for a backer to stump up some money to finance a revolutionary way of silencing annoying sounds in FSX.it's in the testing phase at the moment...it requires the raising of both elbows level with your forehead and then(this is the clever part......shoving one finger into each earhole.i think i might be onto something here... steve-0

Thats always been my solution. Just leave the bass cranked up. That gets the neighbors attention. Volume control to the speakers is my main mode control knob :)

You could exchange the sound bite to something more appropriate like a voice that says "It's all yours captain"Bob

Thanks, that suggestion sure sounds easy enough but, I could not find a single one of my planes that had something that I could adjust in the sound.cfg files. I found one aircraft in the entire list that had the [AP_DISENGAGE_SOUND] folder but it did not have a max volume value.Ray

Do you suppose I could exchange it with 'silence, please enjoy, Captain"?Ray

If its an addon aircraft it may have its own specific sound folder in the root sound folder or FS root directory. There are instances when the AP sound is tied directly to gauge file also. Then its usally in the sound folder.

I looked around for that sound file and could not find it. I then looked at the default 172 thinking it was aliased but no go. A real mystery. I played every sound file I could find for the 337.Bob
