March 1, 201214 yr Commercial Member I was browsing the Natural Point TiR forums and found this.http://forum.naturalpoint.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=50464#Post50464"They have our SDK, and they've expressed a desire and intention to integrate TrackIR. But until it's released we can't say for sure. If want to get involved, I'd recommend emailing the Flight team directly to ask for an update and make your request known to them."That was on Feb 9th. I really WANT TiR support in Flight, and I hope they do have official support from the dev team! If not, I hope NP "hacks" in support like they have done in the past with the MSFS, CFS, and IL2 series. I would say to support TiR by posting your support on Flight forums and TrackIR forums, and let BOTH party's know that you want TrackIR for Flight! Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer
March 1, 201214 yr I hope you are right Kev. What I am worried about is that the MS Flight team assigned the view keys to the default function keys associated with TrackIR. Now it isn't a problem to set up new hotkeys, but many devs do tend to leave at least F9 and F12 open for TrackIR's use. One gets the impression that none of the devs are in fact "serious simmers" if that term exists, which makes it more remarkable when you think how much potential this sim has and how many things they are doing right from the word go.I tried flying last night using a POV hat, which sucked and felt simming 10 years ago, and I am not getting joy out of the mouse-viewing either. Somebody must take these devs up in a real Steerman so they can get that authentic "head-on-a-swivel" experience, and then realise the hardware is actually available to make it happen on the PC right now. Please devs, you can do it! Edited March 1, 201214 yr by Warmbrak
March 1, 201214 yr Shouldn't it at least it possible to make track IR control the mouse in some kind of mouse look mode? I tried to do quick search, but didn't find anything relevant... Frank Olaf Sem-Jacobsen
March 1, 201214 yr I really hope Track IR will be there soon. The lack of TIR-support is the main thing that's keeping me from really liking MS Flight right now. I want to like it, but without Track IR I just can't... I did my first flights yesterday and there is a LOT (really a LOT!) to like, but having to use the mouse and keys to move around (even if you simply want to look at a gauge) is a dealbreaker for me. I am quite amazed TIR isn't supported by default.
April 24, 201214 yr Using my TrackIR in mouse mode, I can only look about the cockpit if I'm pressing on my right mouse button. Anyone know of a way to re-map the right mouse button to a joystick button (within the game)? I'm using a Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar.
April 24, 201214 yr Moderator Shouldn't it at least it possible to make track IR control the mouse in some kind of mouse look mode? I tried to do quick search, but didn't find anything relevant... I'm confused now. Didn't you write this mini-tutorial a few months ago? Using TrackIR and GlovePie with Flight http://forum.avsim.n...ie-with-flight/ Using my TrackIR in mouse mode, I can only look about the cockpit if I'm pressing on my right mouse button. Anyone know of a way to re-map the right mouse button to a joystick button (within the game)? Read the article cited above. This functionality allows you have your head movement rotate your viewpoint from side to side and up-and-down while holding down the right button on your mouse. This quickly becomes tedious, so I have created a small script for GlovePie that automates some of this process and make it more controllable. Fr.
