  1. Are you attempting to run this in VR? I'm asking because I recently noticed that if I have my Vive Pro 2 powered up with the Vive software loaded BEFORE I run P3D V5, I get a black screen. if, on the other hand, I run P3D V5 first with the headset off (desktop mode), the sim loads fine. If I THEN power up the headset with the Vive software, the sim keeps running in desktop mode. I can then enable VR in the menu and the sim will switch over to VR mode. P.S. I don't have to go through all this with P3D v6.
  2. mryan, I don't understand your point - please elaborate. Spoilerons SHOULD provide appropriate (as opposed to adverse) yaw. What I see modeled in this sim, however, is that the turn-bank ball slams to the left in a left turn and slams to the right in a right turn. This is indicative of adverse yaw. The irony, as I see it, is that in this sim, aircraft with ailerons show a negligible amount of adverse yaw. By that I mean, the ball hardly moves.
  3. So ironic. The flight model in MSFS (like P3D and X-Plane by the way) is dumbed down in the area of "aileron induced adverse yaw". So why is that when flying the MU-2, there is a pronounced demonstration of "aileron induced adverse yaw"? I mean, there are NO ailerons!
  4. Isn't that strange.. Thank you so much for confirming that.
  5. I've got all the traffic turned up plus airport details but I can't see a single static airplane at Paine Field. How 'bout anyone else.
  6. Sorry everyone for running off at the mouth without conducting more research. I have a corrupted installation of Seattle Airports X which put KPAE at a flat elevation of 565 feet.
  7. The literature states the highest point is about 606 feet. I would guess that 16L / 34R has a hump midway. Trivia: Back in the 80's, when I took flight lessons there, there was no 16L / 34R runway. 11 / 29 was active. Field elevation at that time was 602 feet.
  8. General airport field elevation is measured as the highest point of all runways. The published elevation at the 16R threshold is 563 feet. https://skyvector.com/files/tpp/2306/pdf/00142AD.PDF
  9. "I wonder if LM tweaked (broke) V6 the scenery any more so as to cause even more issues" For P3D v6, the elevation of KPAE has been increased in error (by my observations) by about 47 feet. You won't notice until you install Drzewiecki's Seattle Airports X scenery. Seattle Airports X worked fine in P3D v5. For example, P3D v6 shows altimeter at 16R threshold to bet 612 feet. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think v5 showed about 565 feet.
  10. While scrolling the aircraft selections I see a "no preview" warning instead of the spinning 3D model for all the versions of the C-130. When I load the plane, there is no external model and no 3D cockpit. (there is a 2d panel) As invisible as it is, it still flies. Has anyone had this problem?
  11. For the entry "INSERT-LICENSE-HERE", do I enter my V5 or V6 License?
  12. do i still need to uninstall my old drivers before installing the new ones? Edit: never mind, i found the nvidia "procedure", which is do NOT uninstall...
  13. dburne, How's the joystick spring tension on the Warthog vs the Cougar? I found the Cougar to be too stiff so I swapped the springs with TM F22 springs.
  14. Haven't tried this challenge myself but I have to ask... Wouldn't dropping the flaps a notch help?
  15. AZsoccer, Do you have the newer Nvidia glasses with the IR transmitter that sits on your desk? If so, can't you just turn the pot on it to reduce the separation?
  16. I once read an article stating you could not make a right-hand turnout on a carrier take-off with a Corsair. The premise being that you used up all the right rudder just keep the plane going straight. I've always wondered if there was any truth to the article.
  17. Okay, I was just wondering if there was some deliberate decision to avoid tempting pilots to use the game in flight planning. Kind of like eliminating crash damage following 9/11, which I see as a sensitive gesture but also an attempt to avoid possible litigation.
  18. Isn't it best for MS that they keep a healthy amount of expired nav data in their sims and games (and publicly warn of that fact)? I mean, if they claim to be current and someone uses their sim/game to plane a flight, what happens when they go out and run into a tower? Then here come the lawyers.
  19. I'm not sure what's compatible with ATI cards. My limited experience started with 3dfx cards and eDimensional shutter glasses many years ago. They worked quite well together for Directx and Opengl games. When it came time to upgrade cards, I chose ATI but had to give up on stereo because ATI cards didn't work all that well with eDimensional glasses. With compatibility in mind, I recently chose a GTX470 Nvidia card and the Nvidia glasses. It really is a flawless setup - almost....... I cannot use my glasses on Opengl games. For some reason only Nvidia's Quadro line will do that.
  20. You need a monitor with a fast refresh rate. When I bought mine a year ago, I chose the Alienware AW2310 23 in monitor but you should probably Google for "best 120hz monitor" (or something like that) to find out what's new. Keep in mind, though, if you're used to a CRT or IPS digital monitor, you'll probably be disappointed with the color rendering of TN monitors. You get a lot of banding. It's a trade-off.
  21. Well, I dusted off my Nvidia stereo shutter glasses to try out Flight. Although I think the glasses are a novelty at best, I have to admit they work well in Flight. The cockpits are gorgeous with no weird graphic glitches. The real treasure was flying the Stearman. What a hoot! It was like, well, driving a bus from the back seat!
