REX Weather Program Not Doing Anything?

Featured Replies

I did my part and purchased REX (50% off). My issue is not a majoe one but the weather program (aka "engine") opens when I load FSX as expected (see below). However, it tell me to wait. Nothing ever happens. If I click load weather it then appears to work as it seemed to intend when it opened. The texture manager part of REX looks like it works ok but quite slow making "creations". Anyhow, should the weather program do something at start-up of FSX or is the manual loading doing the same thing it would have done?

My suggestion may look weird, you paid for software that's suppose to do all of it, but for weather loading I'd recommend free software that works just great, is light on hardware and keeps it's promises. It's FSrealWXlite and you can get it at this link http://www.hanse-coders.net/index.phpIt will just download weather from server you determine and load it to your sim, the good news is, you will keep the REX textures.

1: That is normal, when the weather engine starts, just click on minimize. Once you load your flight, the weather engine will work as directed and inject weather per your settings in the config manager. Be aware currently, no matter how far out you set the distance for weather updates in the config mgr, it will still update every 30 minutes. This is addressed in the upcoming Essentials update.2: When you initially load your preferred textures into FSX , it does take a while, due to the water textures. After the initial loading of the textures, go back into the config mgr and uncheck the water textures, this will significantly reduce the texture loading time should you load them again. Mine takes about 1 minute. However what I do now, is pretty much set it and forget it, I do not load textures again before launching FSX, I just go with what I have loaded in there already, and it looks great!Once Essentials is released, I think everyone will like the REX weather engine much better. You can read about the improvements at the REX website forums.Hope this helps,

Question when I choose random theme, REX is loading random everything right and not just weather?
