MANHATTAN and Simflyers KEWR scenery problem...

Featured Replies

O.K. like others mentioned the new scenery for Manhattan is awesome but has anyone noticed the mesh problem along the Hudson river??? It also seems Manhattan cuts out some autogen along the Hudson River on the New Jersey side... I had to uninstall my Simflyers KEWR scenery until they come up with a fix for the autogen around the airport. KEWR flattens out all autogen from east of the airport to the Statue of Liberty all the way south past Staten Island, west to Rahway past the city of Linden etc... It has to be a good 30 or 40 miles total around the airport that's devoid of autogen, looks terrible next to Manhattan (makes KEWR look worse because it's the problem let alone the fact that the airport is a hug frame rate hog)...This is too much scenery to have missing for one airport.I wrote them this exact message hoping they'll come up with a fix. They ignored me the last time I reported this months ago. It seems most of their scenery that was designed for FS2k2 had this big block of space taken out of various areas to accommodate their scenery. With this airport being so close to so many other great things, you can't have chunks of scenery missing like this... I for one would love to use Simflyer's scenery with this area but now that Manhattan has been done to this degree, it destroys the feel of the area.Aerosoft has done a great job here and I hope they patch the mesh on the Hudson...

Thanks for the heads up Dillon.I don't want to do without simflyers as it is already paid for. Do you have SimFlyer's KJFK as well, and if so is it messed up also? Thanks:RTH

Sorry don't own KJFK, maybe we can get some info from others who own it...(-:

I use the new manhattan scenery and simflyer's KEWR but I don't see the autogen problem you are describing. On my system autogen around KEWR, up and down the Hudson on the Jersey side seems to be unaffected. I don't see any chunks of scenery missing. Can you post a screenshot? I'm curious to see what you are seeing on your monitor. Thanks.

Go to Aersosoft's general forums and you'll see my post about this problem (Avsim won't let you post screenshots here so I won't bother trying), I've posted some pictures that show what I'm seeing on my machine. It seems to be a combination of Simflyer's KEWR, Manhattan, and Shehryar Ansari's freeware KLGA that's causeing the problem...Thanks for asking.

I saw your pics and the problem, but I also saw that other's pics were posted that showed no problem. Try disabling the 2 airports in the scenery library nad see if the problem goes away and then you will know if that is the problem.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/PBTMCa.jpgCalVirAir International VACougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviation[link:www.cgrmthelos.com]Cougar Mountain Helicopters
