March 3, 201214 yr Does FSX utilize more than 2 gig of system ram and if not can the .exe be edited to allow more? Will this work for FSX:http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112556 Chris Camp
March 3, 201214 yr On a 64 bit OS, there is no need for this. FSX will use whatever system RAM Windows gives it - up to roughly 4 GB. Bert
March 4, 201214 yr KIloThere may be some confusion between the physical RAM and the process or virtual address space (VAS). In the article you quote they are talking about the VAS (NOT the physical RAM) and this is limited to a MAXIMUM of 4GB for a 32-bit app like FSX in a 64-bit OS if it has a Large Address Aware Flag set which FSX does. In the article they are talking about a 32-bit OS only where you can increase the VAS from 2GB to a maximum of 3GB minus whatever the VRAM occupies. In a 64-bit OS this is set by default to 4GB and is little affected by the amount of VRAM and should NOT be changed.Physical RAM installed has really nothing to do with this VAS and really has no bearing on the topic you quoted, You could have 192MB of RAM installed but you would still only have 4GB VAS for a 32-bit app. This is a good read by P Taylor: http://blogs.msdn.co...ress-space.aspxThe VAS is part of the OS and physical RAM is just hardware like the cpu and hard drive.RegardsPeterH Edited March 4, 201214 yr by peterhayes
