March 4, 201214 yr I cannot seem to get rid of these buildings at a remote Alaskan outpost. The three storey mansion in the foreground is the most incongruous. These are my fsx.cfg settings.AUTOGEN_DENSITY=0TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=1000TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL=0000Would be grateful for advice. Thanks. John
March 4, 201214 yr These buildings are not autogen - they are placed there by airport scenery, so any autogen setting has no influence on their display. If they really trouble you so much, then use any scenery design software and make exclusion poly in the area where you want the buildings to dissapear. Fly S A F E ! March 4, 201214 yr Author Thanks! Looks like I'm going to be busy - too busy to fly maybe if I've got to sort out small airflelds like this in AK.I wonder why, if they are not autogen, the program inserts these very unreaistic buildings at these coordinates. March 4, 201214 yr I wonder why, if they are not autogen, the program inserts these very unreaistic buildings at these coordinates. Because those are the buildings whoever designed the airport put there--or, rather, those are the objects assigned to those GUIDs in the bgl file these buildings are pulled from. Is this a default FSX airport or and add-on of some sort.Rich
March 4, 201214 yr It's because Aces team needed to cover the whole world with thousands of airports and on some locations (quite a lot of them, to be honest) did far less than perfect job. But, still, it's great, the developers can intervene and add new scenery to FS X world, while in Flight that's no longer possible - they want to do it all by themselves. Rich, I don't know the location, but I'm a 100% sure this is default Microsoft - can't imagine any scenery designer would release something like this. Fly S A F E ! March 5, 201214 yr Author Thanks. It's default FSX scenery at KCG - Chignik Fisheries, Alaskan peninsula. The coast isn't very well rendered either at this location - note the uphill water. I made an FS2004 scenery for this location with basic facilities that you'd find in a place like this. Also, a few cabins. In FS2004 it was simple to do as there was almost nothing at KCG to start with except the landing strip. To do the same in FSX won't be so easy if I've got to start removing buildings. After KCG I had hoped to model Chignik Lagoon (KCL) but this will probably need similar exclusions. John John

Oh, hell...in that case, just download and install ADE (Airport Design Editor): ( http://www.airportdesigneditor.co.uk/ ). . Makes it a snap to edit airports--especially simple ones. If I can use it, anyone can.Rich
March 5, 201214 yr Yeah, Airport Design Editor is what you need. Those are generic buildings that will appear in ADE so you can just right-click on each one displayed in ADE and select delete, then compile the airport .bgl file. The display setting in ADE should be "Extremely Dense" so that all objects appear. One way to get rid of these buildings in FSX without modifying the airport is to set Scenery Complexity to "Normal". March 6, 201214 yr Author Thanks. Yep, of course. I'm too fixed on SBuilder. Edited March 6, 201214 yr by betelgeuse John
March 7, 201214 yr You might also check out the AVSIM file library for pajc.zip. It's an 85 kb download of Chignik. I haven't tried it myself, but it might be the easy way to fix your problem.

I'm modelling KCG - Chignik Fisheries on the other side of the bay. #6 John
