March 5, 201214 yr I've been trying FSXRealWx Lite and it seems to work well, but I'm having a problem with prop planes losing power in clouds. I have icing in clouds unchecked in the options, pitot heat on, and prop anti-icing on (when available), but I still lose power in clouds. The manifold pressure drops gradually and soon all power is lost. If I select clear all weather in FSXRealwx, the power returns. Is there any way to prevent this on winter flights?Dale Dale
March 5, 201214 yr Carb heat? This. I remember there was discussion some time ago about an error in the FSX prop model and that same propeller planes need carburetor heat turned on by pressing the hotkey I'm guessing. March 5, 201214 yr Author I'll give the carb heat a try, seems strange it only happens when I use FSXRealWx and not the default weather.Dale Dale
March 5, 201214 yr Author Yep, carb heat did it. I've used carb heat in real airplanes, but I didn't think it had any effect in FSX. Thanks to everyone.Dale Dale
