It's a lot more than just "watching scenery go by"... normal race legs (this year) were max. 2 hrs. Plenty of opportunity to use your stick & rudder skills there Wolfgang. I think if you flew one leg you would have a whole new take on the meaning of "intensity". :Big Grin:

Don't forget to stay inverted for an hour.. I just got that achievement. Rather simple.. Grab mustang, climb to about 5,000ft, set throttle at 45% max out the trim, watch a good TV show and occasionally tap left or right to keep the flight level. ^_^

Im not trying to insult people who like cross country flying. I just dont do it myself. Even when flying the Evektor SportStar in real life, I was ready to land around 2 hours into it. That I guess is why I like Flight so much. Its easy to pick up and put down. You can just hop in for a quick flight! Everyone fly's in there own way.

none taken (i'm not a jahman / attila et alia i.e. pretty tough to insult me and me take it seriously)... and yes that is the beauty of flight... so many different things to do in / with FSX / FLIGHT. In the beta, I was able to get that achievement with a Stearman by flying as high as I could, save my free flight, then invert the plane and coast slowly down to sea-level. Load the save, rinse and repeat. Did this about 8 times in a row to rack up the hour needed.

Click KC Flight Shop below my name. I did a FSX SportStar and when modeling it, I did well over 2 hours of flight testing in the real thing. Its a fun little aircraft with an amazing view!

Those Vatsim guys would have raised the chatter level to new heights if they saw me flying straignt and level at 7,000 inverted.

I'm sure... and you reminded me of a "stunt" I would like to pull...I "always" thought what a trip it would be to fly an ILS inverted... break out of the overcast a few hundred feet over the runway, half roll back and land. Boys in the cab (tower) would have something to talk about. Probably get cited for "Careless & Reckless". Have to wear a chute. And would need a relatively stable aircraft... I wonder what the S.F. 260 would be like... :crazy:

I don't remember where I took off from but I just checked my monitor clock and computed I could make Oahu in a little less than an hour, flipped the plane on its back and continued my flight. I got there on time and just flew up and down the coast to get my full hour. Took a few screenshots along the way. Used the mouse to keep the wings almost level. Made coffee, had a couple of cups while flying, dropped out and checked the achievement screen to make sure the counter was working. Inverted all this time. Made me a new signature box. Done deal.Ray
