The lack of toe brakes is fouling up my landings.

I hate and like when you brake applying the x key and the plane starts to sink its nose until you almost crash and sometimes you crash.I would definitely need a plane where you can see the runway clearly without zig zagging or without hoping the runway is free.

You can mitigate the problem by simply raising your eyepoint while taxiing and/or landing. It's quick and easy to accomplish.

Which key to do that ?I wonder how real Stearman and Maule pilots do in real life....? I would buy an optional for the plane as DLC, a neat periscope would be perfect.

Yep, mapped those eyepoint movements to a hat on my stick, and for that now I did add the repeat lines - I use it quite frequently, especially with the Stearman and the Maule.

I would imagine at least on approach, they would do the zig-zag.

Hold down the mousewheel button and move the eyepoint up/down, left/right as desired. To quickly recenter your view, press the Backspace key.

Has anyone had any success mapping the 'X' = 'both brakes' function to a Joystick button?I've tried mapping that key to a couple of different buttons but it doesn't seem to work mapped to a joystick, only to the X key?Just want to make sure it's not just me confusing the 2 second delay of the brakes for the joystick button mapping not working, although it does make it a convenient scapegoat for my failing the Stearman landing challenges by crashing after running off the end of the runway :D
I actually use an Xbox controller for much of my flying, and mapping brakes to any of the buttons on that does absolutely nothing. I use the keyboard default for toe brakes, or just the parking brake (hold the stick back, and even the Stearman won't tip over).

A turning approach, probably. And on short final, you simply lean out of the cockpit - which Flight lets you do!I still have huge problems flaring the Stearman at the right time, though, I usually stall it in from a few feet up. Not too bad, but the passengers don't like it!

The only taildragger I've taxied was a Grob 109, but I just stretched my neck to see over the nose when there were no nearby obstructions, and when I needed to check closer to the aircraft I did some S turns.
