March 7, 201214 yr I'm curious.. Maybe someone who was in beta can chime in. As I'm sure this isn't the only instance of this. Here is Old Kona Airport State Park.. Clearly (as it should be) identified with the X's to indicate it's closed. But here it is on the map without being labeled "Closed Airport". Seems kind of strange to me to implement a legend icon, have airports that could make use of it but not bother. I personally would find it interesting to fly around the islands checking out closed airports.Yes, I landed at old Kona Airport anyway. :) ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING / i9-9900k @ 4.7 all cores w/ NOCTUA NH-D15S / 2080ti / 32GB G.Skill 3200 RIPJAWS / 1TB Evo SSD / 500GB Evo SSD / 2x 3TB HDD / CORSAIR CRYSTAL 570X / IPSG 850W 80+ PLATINUM / Dual 4k Monitors
March 7, 201214 yr Commercial Member I think Ford Island is also not listed on the map, but you can still land there, and get an award! Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer
March 7, 201214 yr That's wierd, I'll have to double check - Ford Island is listed on my map, that's one of the first places I wanted to go once I downloaded the Islands!

March 7, 201214 yr And the irony is that the airfield at Ford Island is actually closed in real life.Go figure. If it’s any consolation, some veterans pointed that too during the beta. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
March 7, 201214 yr If it’s any consolation, some veterans pointed that too during the beta.Being a vet myself (21 years in the Air Force), I actually don't mind Ford Island being used by the sim community. It and the still operational Hickam, (now combined with Pearl Harbor into Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam) were key strategic airfields in the attack on Dec 7, and in the war effort throughout the Pacific Campaign. Even Dillingham, which is now used mostly for glider and skydiving flight, was involved in the defense although it was called Mokule'ia Airfield until 1948.
March 7, 201214 yr I wish the old flying boat ramps along the bay-side of Kaneohe were modelled, but they aren't... It's just a drop off to a crash. You can even see where the ramps are supposed to be in the photo textures.
