thanks so much - that did it! that answer was posted in the original topic announcing the release, but for some reason (most likely my ineptitude) it didn't work for me. must have hit the right keys this time

I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to download RCS's B-25 64-bit version since it was released. On both my "flight computer" and my laptop, when I select the link on his news page, another page opens that states "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". Has anyone else experienced this concern and successfully overcome it? Or is there an alternate site where I can download it? Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered!

I can get to the RCS Panels page with no problems...however when I click the 64 bit version link, I get the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" message. Is anyone else having this problem?

I was a flight engineer on C-130s - about 2000 hrs. does MilViz offer charts for approach speeds based on weight? in actual flights, your approach speed was based on weight - subtract 10 for threshold speed - subtract 10 for touchdown speed - for regular landings, of course... the C-130 is on my list of "planes to get" as finances allow...since I still have my dash one and checklists, should be fun!

A2A Simulations announced Accu-Sim Cessna 172 and Piper Cherokee

VERY excited about the Albatross! -
I'm new to FSX also...computer couldn't handle it at the time it came out, so I stuck with FS9 until real life got in the way! Anyway, MS Flight got me interested in flight simming again, so built a new computer...but got tired of waiting for a helicopter to be released, so downloaded FSX. Now that introductions are out of the way - how would adding sceneries IMPROVE performance? I've been thinking of upgrading scenery, but I thought "other than default" would add to the computing burden, not ease it... and - yet another question - Manny mentioned MegaScenery - looks good on the website, how do those of you who have used it rate it?

Thanks for the explanation! Haven't been able to find a clear "this is what's different" anywhere else.

great shots! where was the Stearman pic (solo, not with his buds clowning around) taken?

What are we gaining by moving from Flight to FSX?
newthog replied to LHookins's topic in The Microsoft Flight (2012) Forum
THIS^ If there had been a helicopter released for Flight, it would still be the only sim I was flying! Can't say that I was thrilled with Alaska in Flight, when I compared it to Hawaii...when I fire up Flight, it's still Hawaii and the Stearman for me. But about a month ago I reinstalled FS9 because I was tired of waiting for a helicopter...and the day before Flight's team closure was announced, I downloaded FSX to fly helicopters. So while there are many other options we gain with FSX, this reason is what causes me to fly it instead of Flight. -
At least I still have... The Maule

ok...I'll be the contrary one...i LOVE the Stearman! Yes, it may not be "useful" for much in Flight, but I've always liked taildraggers, rotary engines, and biplanes. The Stearman's design is so bleak and overpowering that it's beautiful (to me)...so when I fire up flight, it's Stearman time! -
I"m with you on this - we may never know the "rest of the story". To me, it seems as though poor management decisions in several areas (marketing, use of feedback, sharing of information, etc) led to the demise of Flight. So much wasted potential... However, something positive came out of it. When I first heard of Flight, and saw some screenshots and videos, I dusted off my FS9 discs and tried them again. Wasn't happy with my old gaming computer, so built a new one to the "recommended system specs" for Flight. Enjoyed Flight Hawaii immensely, bought Alaska during the Steam sale. I finally tired of waiting for a helicopter to be released, so bought FSX Gold from Microsoft's site the day before it was announced that Flight was done. So, while I'm not a "new simmer", Flight got me back in the game. And it appears it has brought other people into this gaming niche - so kudos to the Flight Team for what they were able to do!

if a radial engine isn't leaking, it's out of oil! proud to have performed the last radial engine change in Air Force history - we swapped out a 2800 from the C-131E being used as a support aircraft for the 121st TFW.

Thanks - that did the trick! Although it's VERY odd not using he rudder when taking off in the Stearman... -
I'll see that hope and raise you a "strong desire"! Oddly enough, I downloaded FSX the day BEFORE they announced Flight was through...because I wanted to fly helicopters, and Flight had ruined me for FS9! So yes, JVE, I believe we see what we want to - however I still see a great sim in Flight (Hawaii), just wish it had more. Also like you, I wanted Flight to succeed...which I feel, if it brought more people into "our" hobby, it was partially successful. At least they tried...
