It's not an issue of they didn't think people's computers couldn't handle it. It's an issue of FSX not being able to handle it.

Frankly, i'd rather have a cheesy rain animation than one for the oxygen mask...but alas...it's not up to me.

I see your point, but at the same time, could it be because the rain is actually several animations and not just one? I honestly don't know, but I'm willing to at least give them a little credit in thinking they wouldn't bail on rain and opt for the ox mask if rain were easy/simple.

You would have to give up another animation to have it. FSX has a hard coded limit on total animations, and the NGX maxed it out.

So because I let people know the facts that you're not going to see rain effects on the NGX, I get -2 on my post...really? Grow up kids.

I agree, but for a 6 year old program with several limitations it is pretty amazing what developers like PMDG, A2A, ORBX, and HiFi Simulations have been able to do with the platform.
