March 8, 201214 yr don't take me serious here just wanted to show what a difficult approach the pilot's had to face with.enjoy Daniel choen
March 8, 201214 yr Very cool. Love the sound of those old engines. :)Rain effect would be awesome indeed. But PMDG said that they've run out of animations, and it would simply not be possible. I dunno why btw. And also, it would be a very big recourse hog. Perhaps a rain effect would be possible in XPlane 10? Who knows... Arjen Vandervelde

March 8, 201214 yr Anyway, the rain effect on FSX it's worst than not having it. Matias SorcinelliCHECK MY CHANNEL!!! - http://www.youtube.com/user/masneoquil

March 8, 201214 yr Commercial Member I kinda wish the video from my flight on Sunday turned out. I flew through some rain, and it was getting darker, so I flipped on the landing light and you could see bright streaks of light heading towards the light. Looking straight ahead out the windscreen, you couldn't see a thing. There was no evidence it was even raining. Even cooler was the effect the strobes had on the rain. It was like flying through frozen spots of light.I'm not saying you'll never see rain on the windscreen when flying, but it's a lot less obvious than you'd think. It's not like driving a car in the rain at all. Kyle Rodgers

March 8, 201214 yr It's evident, even audible. It forms streams of water going up and outward across the windscreen. The droplets blur the windscreen. It's obvious why aircraft have some sort of rain removal. The G550 was certified without blowers after production. We 1 550 with windscreen blowers and 2 without. FAA is convinced that the rain repellant baked onto the windscreen is good enough. Works well like rainx. Rick D http://g5flyer.tumblr.com/
March 8, 201214 yr Commercial Member So because I let people know the facts that you're not going to see rain effects on the NGX, I get -2 on my post...really? Grow up kids. did you fly in a cessna 172? great story, i wish i could have gone through this experience.Yep. I was in a Cessna 172 that day.http://kpilot13.blogspot.com/2012/03/ir-pic-xc-complete.html Kyle Rodgers
March 8, 201214 yr I think it should at least be an option in a configuration menu. For people who have fast computers that can handle it.
March 9, 201214 yr Frankly, i'd rather have a cheesy rain animation than one for the oxygen mask...but alas...it's not up to me. Patrick Houghton
