How to start Flight in a maximized window?

Featured Replies

Can`t get it run maximized in a window.Even if i select with right click-> proerties -> maximized windowAnybody knows?

There does not "appear" to be a way to have it maximize to your monitor size (in windowed mode). The window appears to resize itself, even when you try to "pull" it to fit your monitor. All that to say, "no, I dont think so", to your question!

The maximize button does not work, but I've been able to stretch the window to fit the screen. Sometimes this goes back to a normal smaller window, but eventually it will "stick" and stay the full size you want it.Hook

For you guys that run in a window, have you noticed any difference in performance in running in a window versus full screen mode?I currently run in full screen, but I do have two monitors and in full screen that secondary monitor gets blacked out like it does in FSX, however in FSX I use it to display things like my GPS, atc window, radio, kneeboard. Can't do that currently at least in Flight. Why do you prefer windowed mode? I assume you have more than one monitor and want to use it for other things?Just curious...

I started using windowed mode in FSX so that when it crashed, at least I'd see a dialog box instead of having the screen simply freeze for some length of time. I can get FSX windowed to look very much like full screen by going to classic theme, making the window title font smaller, making the title bar smaller (need to have it big enough to still click on the buttons), giving the title bar a uniform dark color, autohiding the task bar and maximizing the window. My "FSX" theme also does not have a screen saver as these may cause some problems even though they're not supposed to activate. Most of this either doesn't work right or is unnecessary in Flight, although my "Flight" theme doesn't have a screen saver either. As for performance, I noticed in FSX that frame rate was higher in full screen.Hook

Not that I can "notice", no.

Your assumption is correct... in my case at least. But, I prefer the "look" of full screen across 3 monitors. Also, it's a much more "realistic feel" when landing and takeing off... and easier cause you have a wider FOV.

Google Maarten Boelens Flight Sim Pseudo Full Screen. It's a little app that lets you maximize Flight with a window-F11 key combination.
