March 10, 201214 yr Changed my Scenery Density to Maximum today (left everything else on HIGH), and WOW, what a difference. I experience a ZERO performance hit on my system, and I'm amazed at how dense Oahu is. Started on Ford Island with the Icon in inclement weather and flew toward Honolulu. The city is immense and there is a premium on open land. That's how dense it really is. Unlike FSX, there was no stuttering or hesitation with this much density. The scenery at MAX didn't fade in or out. It was there from miles away, and didn't "pop" into view. I've never seen that in a sim. The feeling of real flight was there. Picked up a few Aerocaches, and after passing Diamond Head, I ascended to 3300 feet and the wind was at 53 knots. I was getting knocked all over the place, and had to descend to 1500 feet in order to stabilize the plane. I was en route to Kaneohe Bay (PHNG). This airport is one of my very favorites in FSX and FLIGHT.Even if there are doubters out there about the future of FLIGHT, I am even more convinced that this sim is going to be unbeatable! The planes, the sounds, and the "potential" is unlike anything else. Soon we will see the following (in my opinion): Helicopters (the only way to explore Hawaii) and many other types of aircraft. Force Feedback (for me, this will be a phenomenal upgrade) True weather conditions Superb Cloud renditions (I've heard rumors about discussions with 3rd parties for this) Of course, much, much more landmass to fly "to" and "in". I already think that the scenery on MAX rivals ORBX's PNW. It may even be better. The more I fly it, the more I can see the Grand Design that Microsoft has in mind.Stanps. Check out the config in FLIGHT to get even more clues as to what is coming.

March 10, 201214 yr Agreed the technology is there. The big question is if MS at some point will invest in advanced systems and procedural stuff as this is not their primary target for now. But for GA hopping and ils aproaches, its a blast! Bring more plane and regions.... And working gps an ap at the same time.... PierreP3D when its freezing in Quebec....well, that's most of the time...C-GDXL based at CYQB for real flying when its warming up...

I too have been flying on maximum, I changed it couple days ago to high to see if anything changed much, then went back to maximum - smooth as butter - and like you, I don't " notice" things popping in, and have absolutely no stuttering.I just today completed the " Hawaii Photo Book" mission, and traveled in that same area along with lots of others, and it truly was breathtaking. And to be honest, when I was reading the details on Flight prior to it's release, I never dreamed I would find such enjoyment out of flying missions. The Flight Team did one heck of an impressive job in the ground scenery area and how the programs handles it. They should be very proud of this initial release! And if it only improves from this, oh my... Don B
