Hello,before I open a ticket at PMDG customer support I want to ask the community about my issue.Several days ago I bought the JS41. I run the installer as admin and the authentication via the provided code went also well. When I start from free flight (trike loaded) and load the aircraft in ready to fly mode, the flight instruments need 3 minutes to initialize and I got in parallel on the annunciator panel the warning about the state of the deicing panel (s. pictures). Is this normal or not? If not, does anybody know how I can solve this issue?Thank you in advance

Three minutes seems like a long time, normally takes about 20 sec. The annuciator panel indications are not alarming, refer to the aircraft manual for a good explanation of what they are saying to you. I don't think that the deice indication on startup normal either. Wonder why your installation is so slow to load. Try running the installer again and select repair. You don't have to load the trike first, the only precaution is that you do not make the pmdg the default aircraft. If repair doesn't work, try the trouble ticket route.

Hello Werner.The PMDG_J41_PILOT_TUTORIAL.pdf on page 19 states: ".. you will likely notice that the AHRS is not aligned and as such you have no information displaying on your Electronic Attitude Director Indicator (EADI) or your Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator (EHSI) .... AHRS alignment takes 180 seconds."So, you are not having any trouble with the instruments. They are programmed to take that long to start up, just like the "Real" J41.If you would like to follow the "PMDG tutorial" that comes with the PMDG J41, may I suggest that you try to load the PMDG J41 Tutorial Flight by double click on the icon in your "Libraries > Documents > Flight Simulator X files" folder. I always find that the best way to start a flight in the PMDG J41 when learning with the tutorial.Happy flights.Pete.

Hello Pete,thank you for your answer. I read also the description about the AHRS alignment but I thought that this is only valid if I come from a cold and dark cockpit. A friend owns the PMDG 737NG and it last only 20 seconds to initialize all instruments if he starts in ready to fly mode. That is the reason why I ask the community if my long loading time is normal or not. I also followed Dan’s advice (thank you Dan) and run the installer in repair mode. The result was that the warning for the deicing panel state is now gone and the time for initialization has shortened by 30Sec. (I know that this sounds a little bit strange). I have no idea what is the root cause for this reduction of the loading time . Apart of the long loading time my JS41 is working perfectly. Happy landingsWerner

That was my understanding as well. Maybe there's something goofy in your default set up on the trike that makes the JS41 say it needs to get the instruments up. And, it shouldn't take 3 minutes all the time anyway. If I set them up, then turn off the avionics buses to start the engines and then turn the avionics back on, they reload in about 30 seconds or less as Dan suggests.

If you want to have the J41 in a "ready to fly" setup, the best thing that I can suggest to do is to start with a cold and dark J41, then go through the correct procedure to get it ready for taxi, then save the flight. The next time you want to just go fly, after starting FSX with the default aircraft, load that saved flight, and go fly. That way you will know that it is configured correctly a for flight. I have one saved like this "ready to go" for practicing ILS and landing procedures, though mine is already airbourne and at 4000ft.The J41 was programmed as a procedural aircraft, and as as such, needs to be setup correctly to "just go and fly".And yes, the instruments and avionics will come alive very quickly after and engine start, but only if you have already had the Avionics Masters on and waited for the system to be aligned before the engine start procedure, such as while doing your "checks". But, the first time the Avionics Masters are switched on, it should take the whole 3 mins. It's in the AOM.Happy flights ....
