March 11, 201214 yr Hello 737 captains out there,I've a short question: Does anybody of you also have this strange issue of an open hatch in the back of the airplane (right side, near the rear cargo door)?I'm not talking about the equipment hatch behind the front wheel...Funny, but that hatch was always closed prior to updating the beatiful 737 to 1c...Still I'd like to say THANK YOU to the whole PMDG team for this excellent job and continous support.By the way: There is even a lot of realism concerning that open hatch, because the problem is only on the ground - during flight the air seems to push the door almost in a closed position:-)Always happy landings to all of you, kriggelb Christian Baldauf
March 11, 201214 yr That would be the outflow valve. It's been there since release. Name available upon request
March 11, 201214 yr Author Hello, does that mean that the open hatch is normal and also there on the real airplane?Sorry, if that's the case I seem to not have watched closely before - my fault:-) Christian Baldauf
March 11, 201214 yr Hi,That is not a hatch. It is an exhaust value for the air to flow outside of the plane and is controlled automatically by the pressurization controller. However you can open and close it manually if you want to. When you set the pressurization panel into manual mode you can use the open/close switch to drive this value at the rear of the plane. In auto mode this value is nearly closed in climb, to help the packs to build up a differential pressure. It opens a little bit more in cruise so that the cabin stops climbing. And in descends it opens further so that the cabin starts to descent to. After the landing the value opens full to dump any remaining differential pressure. The NGX does it just like the real one does.Jonathan John Rubens
March 11, 201214 yr Author Thanks everybody for the great clarifications and explanations. I really appreciate that!!Great to know, that there is one more aspect that shows how realistic this addon is!!Greetings from Germany, kriggelb Christian Baldauf
