March 14, 201214 yr Hi fellow FS2Crew captains!Just started to learn the FS2Crew NGX product I have two questions1. Looking at the configuration panel when selecting PWR/AIR SRC to EXT/AS eller EXT/AC you get three options for PB REQ, YES(-->), YES(<--) and blank. What exactly do these different options mean? I guess blank is the same as NO but what is the difference between the different YES values with an arrow to the right or left? Might mention that my main goal is to configure FS2Crew in the best possible way for using it together with Aerosoft AES and I always try to use procedures as close to RL procedures as possible so for instance I'm always using ground power and the air conditioning unit while parked at the gate just until I'm a couple of mins before p/b when I start the APU and disconnect the GPU and ACU.2. Looking at the PNF flows step 2 in the pre-flight section is to make sure the standby power guard is closed but after the few tests I've done so far when starting from a cold & dark state my FO doesn't complete this step but I have to close it myself. Any idea why he wont close the standby power guard during his pre-flight flow as per the manual?

March 14, 201214 yr The standby power switch guard is closed by default for me, PLEASE do not use custom saved panel statesYep I got this using my custom cold and dark state. In the manual it does indicate "Master Battery on. Standby power guard closed. Because the FO does the master battery on action I assumed (wrongly) he would do the 2nd action too. Thanks for asking the question I was too afraid to ask myself :( Paul Humphries
March 14, 201214 yr Author Just checked the online doc and missed this info...sorry about that. However I miss the option where you will use the GPU and ACU at the gate but a couple of minutes before p/b you will start the APU and then start the engines during or after the actual p/b. This is normal procedures at least for SAS here in Sweden. As far as I can tell from the documentation what you can choose is either to start one or both engines at the gate.As for the standby power guard I thought the FO would actually verify this item and close it if it wasn't already but then I know he won't for next flight.

March 14, 201214 yr Author Ok, I'm sure I'll be best friends with FS2Crew and my long-awaited FO for the NGX after a couple of flights when we had the chance to get to know each other :( I know from own experience with previous FS2Crew products it will take some time before you feel comfortable with your new company on the ground and in the cockpit.
