Guys,I've used VA 6 for some time but never intensively. Now I've to decide if I'll give it a new try on my freshly setup of FSX.My current installation is optimized for cruising around southern germany and switzerland with the aerosoft katana 4x. That means the most time I fly under VFR. Now I've got a set of ICAO charts for this region for the most possible immersion.My question is: Where does VA get it's airspace structure from? Is it read out of the FSX structure (which is not the real deal) or is it possible to get VA to use an actual and more complete and logical airspace structure. For me it would be a very interesting and educational experience to use the real charts and procedures with VA.As I said before I used VA some time ago. But I remembered some situations that confused me concerning the airspace and where and when I had to call which controller and so on. Don't get me wrong - I have a good idea of ATC communications but sometimes I wasn't sure if the charts and the VA airspace structure/database fit together.Sorry for my bad english - I hope you get the point.Maybe somebody could just explain me where VA get's it's airspaces from and if they are consistent with the (more or less updated) VFR charts. Otherwise VA it doesn't make so much sense for me. In this case it's better to call the FSX ATC and "imagine" all the things missing there. :Hypnotized:Thanks in advanceDenis

from the scenery files you got installed if those contain that data.the same way FSX ATC would fetch it.that is for VFR.for IFR it's a completely different story.

Thanks Akila,think I've got it.It seems to be clear that the "standard" airspace structure of FSX is out of date or never was quite consistent. It's not the fault of VoxAtc but looking at this background it can't provide what I'm looking for.Flying IFR with VoxAtc seems to be a quite stable affair. But VoxAtc and VFR and non-US lower airspace is not so "funny". I think a simulation lives from a fundament of stability and cohesion. In this case VoxAtc has to act confusing (FSX airspace structure) and that's frustrating.Does anybody out there use VoxAtc VFR-wise and has success? Is there a way to over come these problems?Don't get me wrong - VoxAtc is a complex and ambitious piece of work. I only want to find my personal limit with it.ThanksDenis

My experiences are that IFR is ok , but VFR needs some more development. It can't be right for VFR flights to get instructions to join overhead at major airports (CTR)....the uk version I thought would have covered this as its not difficult to get hold of a database of CTR VRPs but unless my installation is bad somehow it doesn't appear to be the case....Has anyone else with UK v6 had a successful VFR flight in controlled airspace? I mostly fly online VFR now which improves the accuracy of comms but usually only partly and without the immersion of plenty of traffic :(K
