March 15, 201214 yr Hi everybody, during takeoff and approach I am experiencing micro stutters. The stutters come prior to the callouts. My systemIntel i7 CPU X980 4GHz ;12GB RAM; 2 x GeForce GTX295 driver 290.53 together in SLI mode nvidia inspector 1.9.5.9 with 2 screens 1920x1080 and 1280x1024sound Creative Sound Blaster SB X_Fi driver 6.0.1.1376Win7 Prof 64bit SP1; FSX +Acceleration737 NGX Sp 1c ( the best aircraft I ever had)I am running the FSX in full screen mode DX10, main screen for 2D panel 2. screen for CDU overhead and radios ( hopefully sometimes also for the ECU). With the nvidia inspector I limited my frames to 74 Fps which gives 37Fps for2 screens (32-38Fps).The default sound settings of my sound card is 16 Bit 44100 Hz. I have set this because I learned that this is the standard of FSX default sounds. I could switch to 24Bit 44100 Hz but no improvement. The stutters came just before the callouts.I found a solution to overcome this stutters.I looked at the PMDG sounds and I have the impression that they are in a different format. As far as I understand they are sampled in 32 Bit 44200Hz. I am not an expert in these things but I have learned that the sampling has to be converted before execution if they are not in the default format and that gives the stutter, because it takes time.I have simply converted the wav files in FSX/sound /PMDG in the folder CWAS, Levers and Various and in the aircraft folder PMDG 737-800NGX/sound to 16bit 44100Hz and it seems that the micro stutter has disappeared.Has anybody similar experience or a better way to solve this? Thanks for commentsStefan regards Stefan Liebe

May I ask which package you used to perform the conversions with ?RegardsGary
March 16, 201214 yr Author Hi Gary,I used audacity. It is freeware and you can download it from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ open the wav file with Audacity export it and select WAV ( Microsoft) 16bit PCM good luckStefan regards Stefan Liebe
March 16, 201214 yr Hi there.I've opened the ngx audio files in Sony Soundforge to check their properties. They are already 16 bit files with an audio sample rate of 44,100Hz.This is the properties of one typical audio file that I checked:File name PMDG_737_FlapsDown2.wavFile size 0.02 MB (15,908 bytes)File attributes - --a- ----Last saved 2011-07-23 19:50:32File type Wave (Microsoft)Audio format UncompressedAudio sample rate 44,100Audio bit rate 1,411 KbpsAudio bit depth 16 bitAudio channels 2 (Stereo)Audio length 00:00:00.067 (2,953 samples)Video format No VideoVideo attributes No VideoVideo length No VideoVideo field order No VideoVideo pixel aspect ratio No VideoNot sure why yours would be 32 Bit 44200Hz.Regards,Chris. March 16, 201214 yr I am running the FSX in full screen mode DX10,My first suggestion would be to revert to DX9. FSX is not really a DX10 programme and the DX10 preview mode is not thought to work very well.Iain Smith
March 17, 201214 yr Author Hi Ianthanks for the reply.Unfortunately I can not run my system with DX9. If I try the framerate drops to 0.1, that means FSX is froozen. I pressume that this has something to do with the 2 Nvidia cards runninig together.regardsStefan regards Stefan Liebe
