March 15, 201214 yr Hi Bryan,I know you are very busy with the hotfixes, but before the update is release did you manage to sort out a way to get FS2Crew to run through the same sound card that is selected on FSX, or able to build in an option to select speaker sound card as well as the headphone sound card. Thanks
March 16, 201214 yr Commercial Member Craig,I'm assuming I'm correctly following you, why not just use a USB headset.USB headsets have like their own little sound card built in. They show up as a separate audio device. And you can easily route all FS2Crew checklists, etc., through the headset very easily, especially when using a USB. B. March 16, 201214 yr Hi Bryan,Using a USB headset is the same settup as I have now, I already have two separate audio devices. My ATC program, Pro Flight Emulator or Radar Contact, does not have an option to select a sound card as they are very old programs, they will only go through the Windows default sound card. This is the same setting as FS2Crew goes through so all sounds from FS2Crew goes through the headphones. If I had a USB headset I would have to set that as default for the ATC to go through that and then FS2Crew would still use the default setting and go through the headset. If there was an option, such as in GSX, FSX and the NGX, where you could pick the master sound card I could route that through the secondary card and set the headphone selection to my main card or vica versa. FSX has settings for sounds and Voice however FS2Crew does not work through these settings and picks up whichever card is set up as default in Windows. The only other way I can do it is to have my ATC going through the same sound card as everything else and then it makes no sence to have a headphone setting.Hope this explains the problem

I want my ATC to come through my headset. If I could set my ATC to my default communications device I would but it is an old piece of souftware built before Microsoft changed how Windows handled sound. FSX was updates with SP2 to be able to set the sound card that it uses for the engines and seperate the standard ATC through a seperate sound card. PMDG set an option in the NGX to select a different sound card to to the Windows default. FSDT did the same with GSX where you can select the sound card in the setup menu. If you put the same option in FS2Crew then that would solve the problem. I have tried various combinations but the sound from FS2Crew will only come out of which ever sound card Windows see's as the default.
