March 27, 200422 yr Has anyone used Sim Charts or SimPlates? I am looking into getting this but there are a few things I want to know first. Which is better? Can either one be integrated into the kneeboard in FS? Can it be run via WideFS or on a seconday monitor? Thanks andBlue Skies Kevin -.- . ...- .. -. March 27, 200422 yr Author I only have the original version of SimCharts (1.0). From what I have read, the new Simplates offers a much better coverage for a much cheaper price. Simcharts are great, if you only fly in one or two of it's regions, but it can get pricy as you add more parts of the world. I just get most of my charts online for free. http://www.myairplane.com/ has most of charts in the US for free. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
March 27, 200422 yr the best bet is to wait until April 15th when Sporty's Pilot Supplies with offer the all plates for the entire US and all of the protectorate countries for only $10 US. That is 25% of the price of the nearest competetor. CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K
March 27, 200422 yr I live here in Denver, where Jeppesen is located. I drove to their Aviation Store, and purchased the complete Sim Charts set of 3 CD'd with the 3 region option. I now have terminal charts for the entire world. They are really high quality and very good. I have been flying the PMDG 737 around the world, and it is just a bad experience for me to land at an airport in China for example and have NO idea what the approach should be, what the airport looks like and then not to know where to park.I guess I am a nut about navigation details. I had to be when I flew in the USAF.CheersBob
March 27, 200422 yr Author I thought that 3 regions would only get you some of the charts. For example the entire US is 3 regions alone. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
