March 17, 201214 yr Not the good folks on the forum, but those darned passengers I take on as charter jobs. So far, I have only 15 happy passengers, and I guess I sickened another 19 and frightened 4 more! Well, you'd think, whether sick or scared, they'd be really grateful to be back on terra firma. I have personally killed myself more times than I've landed happy passengers--that in itself should make them happy. Anyway, my post last week said I was humbled by a bird, and this week am humbled by those virtual people. Is there anyone out there with a "happier clientel?" My percent happy is 43%. (I have to admit, I think I know how I got some sick, was about 6 nm out from a short destination strip on a coast, at over 6000 ft, so instead of wasting everyone's time circling the field and descending slowly, I decided to throw the Maule into a wicked sideslip, and as I recall the decent/ascent gauge was pegged in negative territory. Anyway, we dropped like a rock, sideways, and never heard a peep of complaint from the folks, but I guess they wrote me up badly of the "How can we serve you better" survey.) Oh, well!Dick
March 17, 201214 yr Although I think they may have made the balance too negative I think MS is just trying to reflect reality here. :) After all there's always someone who thinks the trip/tour could/should have been better. Give people power to really test their personality.
March 17, 201214 yr My happy client percentage is also 43%. It's my landings and sometimes the decent that scares them. Flight nurse in particularl. Some of them even provide advice which would indicate they are pilots themselves. The rules in my plane are simple: zip it. In some cases we're flying extremely overweight & not a single bag fee was charged. Extend some courtesy to the pilots. If this is going to be an issue, bring a parachute. March 17, 201214 yr Shoulda started that descent about 20 miles out! :DMy happy passenger percentage is 50%, mostly from flights in the Icon. I can't get a soft touchdown in the Maule or Stearman and refuse to go to external view just for that. But hey, one of my recent real world flights as a passenger on a 172 on a turbulent day, we hit the ground hard and I still flew with the guy a month later. :DHook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
March 17, 201214 yr It helps with passenger happiness rating when the other kamikaze pilots on Live! stop intentionally crashing into us. I've been on the receiving end of a few while on a job and I've seen a few of those touch off a fight. :)
