March 17, 201214 yr I have a strange problem with FS9. When I try to start a flight at Dubai International (OMDB) or any other airport in Dubai, FS9 will load to about 3% and that's it. It doesn't crash but it doesn't advance any further. It will load airports in Saudi Arabia and Egypt though. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
March 17, 201214 yr Mike,Do you have any addon for that area installed? Like FlyTampa OMDB, DSDG Burj Dubai, Real Dubai by Real-Spain, any freeware Abu Dhabi or anything else?If so, deactivate them and try to load the sim again. If that doesn't help, unistall them and try again. If that doesn't help check possible duplicate afcads for that area using ScanAFD.
March 17, 201214 yr Author Rafael, I have no addons for that part of the world. I've never even attempted to fly in the Middle East before so I don't think I'd have duplicate afcads but I'll have to check.
March 17, 201214 yr Try making a safe copy of your fs9.cfg and let the sim build a new one. See if that helps.
March 18, 201214 yr Author Rafal, I let FS9 build a new cfg file but still no luck. This is a very strange situation.
March 18, 201214 yr Disable AI traffic first, if that doesn't work disable all addon sceneries in the area. if that still doesn't work download 'Procmon' and monitor what the computer is doing while the game is loading.
March 18, 201214 yr I have no addons for that part of the world disable all addon sceneries in the area :(
March 18, 201214 yr Commercial Member Download filemon (think that's the name) it will run in the background and tell you what file is causing the problem.Has helped me with testing many times in the past.Regards Rob Prest
March 18, 201214 yr Author Hi Rob, I used Procmon to check but I wasn't sure exactly what I was looking for. I checked the event viewer for Windows7 and this is the information it gave me.Log Name: ApplicationSource: Application ErrorDate: 3/18/2012 3:36:56 PMEvent ID: 1000Task Category: (100)Level: ErrorKeywords: ClassicUser: N/AComputer: DadsDescription:Faulting application name: fs9.exe, version: 9.1.0.40901, time stamp: 0x4135a208Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17725, time stamp: 0x4ec49b8fException code: 0x4000001fFault offset: 0x000a25d2Faulting process id: 0x10f0Faulting application start time: 0x01cd0546b2cb402bFaulting application path: E:Flight Simulator 9fs9.exeFaulting module path: C:WindowsSysWOW64ntdll.dllReport Id: 1a265351-713a-11e1-a48f-bcaec577daaeEvent Xml:<Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> <System> <Provider Name="Application Error" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>100</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2012-03-18T20:36:56.000000000Z" /> <EventRecordID>20092</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>Dads</Computer> <Security /> </System> <EventData> <Data>fs9.exe</Data> <Data>9.1.0.40901</Data> <Data>4135a208</Data> <Data>ntdll.dll</Data> <Data>6.1.7601.17725</Data> <Data>4ec49b8f</Data> <Data>4000001f</Data> <Data>000a25d2</Data> <Data>10f0</Data> <Data>01cd0546b2cb402b</Data> <Data>E:Flight Simulator 9fs9.exe</Data> <Data>C:WindowsSysWOW64ntdll.dll</Data> <Data>1a265351-713a-11e1-a48f-bcaec577daae</Data> </EventData></Event>
March 18, 201214 yr Commercial Member I haven't read it but have a look at this http://forum.avsim.net/topic/331223-ntdlldll-error-in-fs9/Filemon will tell you exactly what file was being loaded before the error. Rob Prest
