Gameport to USB adapter

Featured Replies

Has anyone used the Radio Shack Gameport to USB adapter with their CH Products Rudder Pedals, and if so, does the brake axis work?I have a new Saitek X45 Stick/Throttle combo. I am using the CH pedals on the gameport with an old joystick, and the X45 on USB, but would like to use the pedals on USB, if the brakes work with the adapter.

I use the adapter. I never got the brake axis to work. Although I never spent a whole lot of time on the problem. I think I tried installing the CH software which was recommended, and that didn't work. Maybe someone else out there figured it out. I use the X45 combo as well, and I just use one of the hats for braking.

FYI, www.cyberguys.com has a USB Port to Joystick adapter for $14.75 US plus shipping. Their item number 131 0970. I don't know what Radio Shack is charging... much more probably? Can't help with the CH Rudder Pedals question.Larry

If the adapter will work for you (it seems to be kind of hit-or-miss with the things), you can unplug the stick and plug the Aux.Port connector into the Joystick connector. That will put the toe brakes on X and Y and you can use them. The problem is that there's no button and so no way to calibrate except with FSUIPC. You can do the same thing with the CH Analog drivers (CHANLG08.EXE on their web site) and not use the USB adapter if you've got a free game port. The software that comes with the drivers has a "Click" button on the screen that you can use in lieu of a joystick button during calibration. If you don't have FSUIPC, it's about the only way to get a good calibration.Hope this helps!- BobThe StickWorkshttp://www.stickworks.com

Great site Bob:Thanks for keeping our old TM F-22's and TQS's going. While I have you can you answer this question? Can you hook up the (upgraded) F-22, TQS with a USB CH rudder pedals? I guess you would plug the TQS into the game port and the CH pedals into a USB connector. Will that work?Regards and thanks again,Ed
