I actually think that it has been a smart idea to put the default flight in the XP-10 demo starting at night. I remained very impressed by the light effects, and that was my very first contact with the XP world. Furthermore the lighted windows in the buildings and the moving vehicles along the roads really give the idea of a living world. XP surely still has several limits, but I decided to order the full version just a few days after starting with the demo.A.

The night effect is fantastic. I just love looking around in demo @night :) wish I had bought a HD 6850 instead of a 6750 I could have gone with lots of traffic.

The stars are never that bright if you are flying in any well populated city, they are a bit too bright. It could be an easy fix for them in the future. You usually measure skies by their limiting magnitude. E.g. where I live the skies are around mag 5 - 5.5 as that is the lowest mag stars I see with the naked eye. Only a percentage of stars are greater than mag 1, 2 ,3 , 4 etc so they could get something reasonably realistic by changing the percentage of stars seen based on the size of the population you are flying around. So if you are flying around a large population you could say its a mag 4 sky and limit the stars to 60% of max.
