Hmmm, you get a 'please try later' message, eh? All I get is an Error 404 type page, but sometimes the download pops up over the top anyway!!Whatever, we all know that Avsim has had a few hardware issues of late, and have been working real hard to fix it for us all, so all we need do is excercise a little patience and soon all will be as normal! It's not as though we were'nt even notified on the front page for goodness sake...it was clear as day, for all to read!Yes it's frustrating, but not the end of the world if you can't download the latest and greatest for a day or two.....so chill-out, relax, breathe deeply, think happy thoughts, and try back later! Of course, it's not just direct hits from Avsim that cause all the traffic, don't forget, there's quite a few other sites, POSKY, and IFDG for example who all host their files here, so anyone attempting to download from there either takes up bandwidth, or are met by the same error message.Anyway, a big thanks to all at Avsim for their services and hopes that all goes smoothly with the transition to the new gear!!

Well something needs to be done if this is going to drag on much longer as at present the file library is unuseable. May have been a better option to close the whole thing down until all the new tech fixes are in place, as most users can't download anyway. Would ease the frustration felt by many due to failed download attempts!

Just what "something", exactly, do you think "needs to be done if this is going to drag on much longer"? Yes, there is a hardware problem. Yes, the staff guys are working the problem. Yes, there will be some level of inconvenience until the problems are worked. If it really bugs you that much all you have to do is stop clicking on the library link for a while. After all, it's not like you're paying for the priviledge. Doug

And it seems some folks are confusing the "priviledge" to download from Avsim with some sort of "right" to download. This site, it's forums, and it's library are a gift to the community. No "rights" offered or given.
