I'm sure Avsim has good reasons for changing the library download procedures, but I'm a little dissapointed. Unlike other sites I could always count on a quick download fromm Avsim. I check the library every day, as a matter of fact Avsim.com is my home page. Now with the changes to the downloads server I have to try multiple times to connect. In the past, we allowed 600 simultaneous users who could connect using three simultaneous port openings - that is, 1800 simultaneous ports open. Today, we have changed that to 200 simultaneous users and limited them to 2 simultaneous connections - or 400 ports open. So, when you use DAP or another multiple download "accelerator" now, it will only be allowed to open two ports at any one log on. If you are user 201 attempting to download, you may have to wait until one the earlier downloaders are finished. We apologize for this, but to be fair to all, we needed to better manage the resources until such time as we can bring our new library server online.

This SUCKS!!!!! I been trying fot the past hour to download one small 560Kb File, and No LUCK!!! This is worst than All nodes Busy.com!! I Know AVSIm Guy's are trying to upgrade, But am Dissapointed about this system! All these new Files, and I can never download anything yet today! Very Sad! Alot of great stuff, but no luck in getting anything! PLEASE Avsim find a beter way to let us download while u upgrade servers! Hey Mike,i'm in need of a POSKY 747-300 FDE for fs2k2,but i can't download ;-)however,you won't hear me complain,it's free,and it'll be even better when that new server comes online.so,just wait in patience,it won't be too long,and then you'll forget all about this.you won't hear me complain,i'm just happy they're here bud.

Who the heck let YOU loose on a 747, Tom?In the meantime, I can wing you that FDE if you tell me which engine type you have.I have no issues with Avsim either, but I do concur that it simply doesn't work right now. Mike,If you don't like it I suggest finding another site that meets your downloading critera better.

You know, I really don't understand what all the whining is about. This is a temporary situation until the new stuff is set up...as stated by the head Honcho himself. If I were Tom, after seeing this whining, I'd shut down the entire library until the servers are set up. Un-believable!!!

Hi there,I have cable modem just for the very purpose of downloading sim stuff, however I completely understand the FREE service that avsim provides us with and I'm pretty sure that Tom and Co. will do anything in they're power to improve the situation.I've been a member since the very beginning of avsim and will continue to support them in any way I can. This is but a small and temporary inconvienience. While most are understanding, it seems there are always a few who have become a bit spoiled of the plethora of files freely available at a simple mouse click. Big picture folks, AvSim has provided free access to thousands of wonderful files over the years! Why can't we give them a few days to sort things out?Dave

OK, GUy's! I am not Bashing AVSIM, And yes I think we are all Spoiled by AVSIM's free Great service!! I was just Frustrated and venting that I could not download the newest Files! I Support AVSIM 100%!!!! Please forgive my Venting, was a heat of the moment when I treid like 50 time's to download a file, and nothing but a "try Again later" showed. :S I am only Human and make mistakes at the heat of the moment! I know everyone in here does stupid stuff when they are frustrated and mad at the time! So Fogive me AVSIM guy's. this is the area where i check back several times a day in the Forums and Libary, Laterz, MIKE :):)

Maybe if more of you had sent in some donations this wouldn't have become necessary...Also, with all the leechers out there connecting dozens of download managers at once, something has to be done or just a few people will eat up the entire allotted bandwidth for a month in a few days...
