Featured Replies

Hey folks, long time flightsimmer coming back to the scene after a long real life interruption. As A matter of fact it has been so long i dont even know what to do or where to go to get downloads, besides AVSIM. So id like some input from the community on what are the must have downloads, payware, freeware, utilities, and websites are being used.Any Help would be greatly appreciated!

Let's start with the basics... Get FSX running well before you go into new territories. What sort of hardware are you going to run FSX with?Make sure you get the SP1 and 2 updates from MS' web site.

| Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

Well I have updated my sig with my basic info...and i have the deluxe version of FSX which comes with acceleration, which means i have SP1 and SP2 installed also. Since i started this post yesterday, i went ahead and did some major installing and used http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html and got my .cfg file customised and installed and implemented the External FPS limiter. Not to mention installed Ultimate Terrain X, Ultimate Terrain Alaska, My Traffic X, and a few of my favorite freeware planes. But i have one gripe, and i hope im not the only one to feel this, but on the AVsim file library, when you go and look for the most popular files, whether it be yesterdays hot files, or last weeks, or last months...all you get are World of AI...with a smattering of other files...PLEASE AVSIM is there a way for you guys to exclude World of AI files from these lists. I know they may be getting all the downloads, but in the past i remember coming to the file library lists and using it as a tool to find out what planes everyone was downloading...now i find using your file library very tedious.

I think the reason World of AI are so popular is because of the high quality of their packages, together with their ease of intallation with their dedidated installer. But you can goto the other libraries and find hundreds of AI aircraft, models, textures and flightplans, though they do involve rather more work.
