April 2, 201214 yr As the title says, I am wondering whether to upgrade to AS2012 or not. Considering I am currently using ASE as weather engine and REX OD for texture, not too sure if the upgrade is worth(30 EUR)? Hope to see someone who had the same situation putting a comment. Z. C
April 2, 201214 yr Hmm, always a matter of personal taste somehow, but I had the same setup as you, upgraded and am very pleased about it. I see an overall better performance with very good framerates. The enviroment outsides sometimes gives me goosebumps. I got FSX exactly working as I always hoped for..I have a i5 2500K OC to a mild 4.0 with a GTX 460 card Jeroen Rutgers-Herenius van Slochteren British Airways VA Onwards and upwards

April 2, 201214 yr Best is to uninstall it. Start fresh. Jeroen Rutgers-Herenius van Slochteren British Airways VA Onwards and upwards
April 2, 201214 yr Author Best is to uninstall it. Start fresh.how about restoring all the textures to default and then uninstalling? or not needed? Z. C
April 2, 201214 yr I didn't do that, but it might be a good idea... If you follow NickC's bible (I think it was C ) to the letter fresh install are the better ones. Jeroen Rutgers-Herenius van Slochteren British Airways VA Onwards and upwards

April 2, 201214 yr Very true. REX-E must be close and will surely be worth a look, without any extra costs involved. If it then would show to be a different cup of tea, you can still buy the AS2012 soft, which isn't that cheap in my eyes.If you are running a previous version of a HIFI software, REX or even some freeware like FSRealWx, you can't really complain about a lack of working weather addons for FSX. Helps on the waiting time I think and saves some money. :(
