Metar at destination is not use by RC

Featured Replies

Hi,

So for me the problem is when I use RC and AS2012 in DWC mode, When I reach 50nm from my destination RC take winds, temperature, qnh from here.

An example to be clear: If my destination is LSGG, at 50nm from my destination RC have to look at the LSGG metar to assign a runway, it should take the metar of LSGG, instead of that it takes the weather which is below me at the altitude I am...so if I am at 12000 it takes wind, temperature, qnh at this moment.

So if the wind at this altitude is the opposite to the wind surface in LSGG, the runway in use taken by Radar contact will be wrong, you see.

I use FS flight keeper, fs captain, Radar contact and fsuipc version 4.812d with fs flight keeper and fs captain the metar at the destination is right. The problem is with Radar contact version 4.3.3845.

FSVersionUsed="Microsoft Flight Simulator X",10.0.61472.0

Christian,

That is not correct the problem is not with Radar Contact but with the last two versions of FSUIPC. Check the Pete Dowson support page. Many people have rolled back their FSUIPC versions which Pete is NOT happy about. fsuipc version 4.812d was his first attempt to fix this issue. As you may remember ASE and AS2012 were working great with RC's ATIS reports at destination. Pete is doing research on this issue. Check out his forum on updates.

Actually FSUIPC 4.812d DOES fix that issue. The only on-going thread about this on my support forum is from this very person (I believe) whose FSUIPC logs show no sign of RC even asking FSUIPC for the weather. I have asked him to examine exactly what is going on -- obviously if RC doesn't ask for the weather and only reads the weather at the current location, that's what it'll get.

I pointed him here because I felt that JD would need to look at the RClogs to see what is going on. Bouncing him back to my forum won't help.

Pete
