April 6, 201214 yr Folks Having been away for three weeks, I've only just got the update. I see that the folks at MS made the elevator trim more fine, which is great - but I don't think it's fine enough. When flight came out there was a thread here about how to tweak a file to fix that. Can anyone point me to it? I tried 14 pages back from here and about 10 foward from the back, with no luck. Cheers Mike Dryden Mike Dryden
April 6, 201214 yr Is this what you're looking for? http://forum.avsim.net/topic/364166-tweaking-trim-control-sensitivity/ Some of that information is out of date with the new format for the standard.xml controls file. April 6, 201214 yr Author Thanks Hook, that was the one I was after... but if it's out of date then I'm still stuck since playing around behind the scenes is not my forte. Might just have to live with it - it's not as bad as it was! Thanks again. Mike Mike Dryden
April 6, 201214 yr If you are using a controller that allows it's buttons to be assigned to send keyboard key inputs rather than joystick-style button presses, there's an easy work-around... Assign two of the buttons to send the keyboard keys that you have assigned to Trim Up and Trim Down. Now, the buttons will act exactly the same way the keyboard keys do... One click gives a 1 degree change while holding the button down gives a repeating change that's still slow enough to control. If you are wanting control finer than 1 degree at a time, it doesn't appear to be possible. I'm hoping that at some point they will allow us to set the minimum trim increments, as 1 degree is still a bit large.
