High Density Seat Configuration

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am wondering if it is possible to set up the NGX -800 series so that the seating reflects the popular "high density" configuration, with 189 seats. This configuration is used by many, many airlines and if it is not possible to select this configuration via the menus, it would be nice to see it added in the next service pack.

Just to name a few airlines that offer 189 seats:

-Ryanair

-Norwegian (not all aircraft)

-Transavia

-Jet2

-Thomson Airways

-TUIfly

-Spicejet

-Canjet

-Sunwing

Probably there are other airlines as well, not listed above.

I second this :) means propper load sheets can be used.

Lol, this has been already brought up numerous times here. And the answer was - it doesn't change a thing. Each seat means "+consrant weight" to the total weight. Of course it would look good in FMC, but it doesn't add much in case of functionality. But it sure adds some more hearache to the devs.

So live with it.

This kind of job - unfortunately - is just like this, comes with some headache at times, but the devs know it well and they have to live with it, too. Still I'd love to see the high density config.

This would only remind me on uncomfortable flights with some airlines that I'll surely avoid in the future (even in FSX <LOL>).

Luckily it's not any comfortable/uncomfortable within FSX, high density seat config would only add to the realism. Why would anyone deny an improvement, epecially an improvement which is WIDELY used in the real world (189 seat config)?

To be honest let's remember that loadsheets at most carriers have standardised tables for load factors and loading plans based on PAX number - as flight crew it'd be a tonne easier to stick in a Pax number.

Secondly, carrying 189 people is different from 146 (or whatever the standard in the ngx is, can't remember as enroute to work).

Considering the popularity - in Europe especially - of the 189 loads, this is a feature that is a shame to have been missed.

I agree with you Craig. The 189 seat config is very, very popular in Europe, just think of Ryanair, Norwegian, Thomson, Transavia, TUIfly... and these are just a fraction of many airlines that have this seating config.

I totally agree.. Ryanair, Jetairfly, and some more have 189 config for the cabin...
