Bit confused here, in the programme files are the following, which cfg. do you edit ?

 

 

fsx.CFG

fsx file dated 4-8-2012

MSFS

Looks like file extensions are hidden. Uncheck this option in Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/View before selecting the fsx.cfg file for editing. The fsx.cfg file you have in your list is actually named fsx.cfg.txt. Setting file extensions to hidden for known file types invites confusion when viewing file listings like this.

your current fsx.cfg is the fsx one without any extension
