April 15, 200422 yr I believe that everyone here who expects a flawless Microsoft Flight Simulator, are the same type of people who would inquire.......... is this "plane" 100% absolutely "safe".Well guess what....Planes aren't absolutely safe & your not going to get a flawless simulator either.......no matter just how much you cry over it!This "game" is marketed as a "game" & cheap at that. Now we're talking lawsuits, victims, & being up in arms over a "game"! Once again, it's pathetic when you think about it...L.Adamson
April 15, 200422 yr >You know, I can't imagine either of you ever filing a lawsuit>in your entire life. I could just see you in a hospital all>broken up and in casts but not blaming the mechanic who didn't>repair your brakes properly because he did the other three>exceptionally well. Your just guessing here & have no idea...Maybe our thoughts are different because we (Geof & I) both fly real aircraft where "real" problems exist. More like life & death when things don't go as planned.Perhaps we don't get so excited about a cheap "game", that it becomes... up in arms, victims, and lawsuits. At least I can seperate a game & real life in my mind. I wonder if others here can do the same? I really, really wonder sometimes.....L.Adamson ---- going, going, gone
April 15, 200422 yr It is no cheaper then any other game on the market. That as we non-"flag wavers" say is an excuse for Microsoft's attitude.Broken is broken in any language. The fact that no attempt at all is made to correct it is the heart of the issue.Lets not blur the issue with silly statements about real flight not being "safe" as that again has absolutely nothing to do with Microsoft's choice to offer absolutely zero after market support for mistakes in their product. No one expects the product to ship with no flaws. People do expect the flaws to be corrected after the product ships.Because Microsoft chooses to not correct defects in their product, they are the ones forcing the expectation of 100% perfection in the shipping product since if it is not perfect, we know it will never get fixed.

No, we would hear how MicroShaft is taking it to the consumer.80 range. It was nice that the price went down to $55 but I don't think anyone here is assuming that it will remain at $50. It may very well go back up to $70.

April 15, 200422 yr That's an interesting point on price. I have been a gamer since the mid 1980's. Has anyone noticed games cost roughly the same now, about 20 years latter, as they did then? At the same time, games are becoming much more sophisticated with great graphics, sound and details. Look at everything FS2004 has programmed into it. I bet there are more man hours involved in creating just the aircraft that came with FS2004 than what went into most entire games in the 1980's. Now look at how costs have gone up a lot since the 1980's. I believe salaries are more. Building rent is sure more. Workers Comp, Health Insurance and all the other costs associated in doing business have more than doubled since the 1980's. I am amazed at what we get for our gaming dollar, particularily in FS2004. No wonder things like printed manuals have had to go.Tony
April 15, 200422 yr One likes FS9 a lot. One also noticed that support for IL2FB doesn't detract from new games development. Oh, one needed to post this because one needs to post once a month to stay active...BTW, one wonders when the FS10 patch is coming out. Any info?
