RAM mixing with different timings

This has been the biggest no-no in computer building since the dawn of time. It can be done but you might as well buy some stock in Tylenol while you're at it.

Totally agree with styckx. I think 12 GB is way too much for FSX. FSX uses about 4GB effectively on a 64 bit system. For more "expert" advice on memory, check the guru's guide at http://www.simforums.com/forums/topic29041.html. Scroll down to when he talks about memory.

Always try to stick with the same memory kit when building PC's. 12GB also is WAY too much for FSX. I'd say that 6-8GB is 100% adequate for FSX and other programs.
