Perfect Flight MD11, oh my....

Featured Replies

Perfect Flight never hammers out any issues. What you have is what you got and that's it...:-bluegrab The only update I've ever seen them do was the FS2k4 updates from 2k2. Now I could be wrong but I haven't seen many patches from these guys. I own the 717 and that did it for me (although I don't hate the plane, it's just not what I thought it would or could have been. The MD11 looks to be the same way, in fact all their planes look the same except for the shape of the aircraft in question. The panels all look like they have the same bitmap coloring and everything. Take a look at the pics of the Learjet, 717, and now the MD11 to see what I mean)...

glad to know. I'm never buying anything from them again. I even emailed them and their response to the VC problem was adjusting my viewpoint height, when I responded with the actual problem being the models not matching up they suddenly haven't responded to my emails anymore

Another angle to look at, for all of you who are interested in the MD-11 from Perfect Flight, is to do a search in the forums for this company. I'll admit that I've never bought one of their products, the main reason being the honest people in these forums who have tried one of their products and been completely disappointed. A search under "Perfect Flight" in the forums will illuminate anyone interested in their offerings, and you will see why they don't exactly have a reputation for quality that is on-par with other developers like DF, PMDG, etc. My advice is buyer beware. Hi rangrod,I'm having the same problem. I sent a detailed email to the Perfect Flight support address and the response was "You must to set and adjust correctly the PITCH TRIM during the flight".Gee, that was a lot of help. For me there are two issues:1) To fly level or climb I must set the pitch trim to full nose up. Anything less than that will start a dive that ends in a crater.and2) The autopilot altitude hold is just completely ignored. If I select altitude hold and dial in a flight level above my current level the vertical speed hold dial shows a positive climb rate but the plane starts a dive that ends in a crater. I simply cannot use the autopilot altitude hold at all!So, what I'm wondering is whether this is only a function of the panel or if it is built into the flight model? If I use a different panel with this MD-11 will I still have a problem? Or if the problem is in the flight model could I use this panel with another MD-11 model?Any ideas folks? Thanks for the help!

I doubt it's the panel because the panel uses default gauges that work fine with other aircraft. You could try using another FDE with the plane, just copy over the contact point and lights from the original aircraft.cfg to the new one, replace the .air file. You might have to make some other adjustments.
